Default Hit The Egg With A Spoon

    Hi,

Have read a lot of the posts and sincerely wish you all the best. I have an Eggicon Loan and did had an Egg Credit Card. Through the years I have got myself in a lot of debt(around£30,000), not just with Egg but about 7 companies. Have been out of work now since July 2006 and am with PayPlan who managed to get all my creditors to freeze charges and interesticon as long as I paid £512 a month(no money went to PayPlan, they are a non-profit making organisation) which was divided up between my creditors according to the amount I owed each one. Due to being out of work I have stopped paying this and have basically hidden from everything, not contacting any of my creditors or PayPlan and ignoring threatening letters and phone callsicon. I actually worked for a utilities company within their debt department and know that the majority of these letters are just meaningless threats. Would really appreciate your views and advice if I should go ahead against them in terms of getting unlawful charges refunded(I estimate these to be atleast several thousand of pounds between all my creditors). The thing that worries me is that for example if I bring a case against Egg, will they counterclaim it by forcing me to pay the full amount I owe them? Even if they did I can't pay it so presume would then just have to agree to some kind of payment arrangement. Also, obviously if I owe Egg Loan for example £10,000 and I estimate they owe me £1000(rough guess) in unlawful charges this presumable will just be deducted from my debt to them.

Another question can I claim back from Student Loans?

Have sent an email to request a list of charges from HSBCicon and also to Egg to obtain details of my credit card which was closed a few years back.

Will keep you updated on how things pan out and will look forward to your views and advice which will be much appreciated.

    Many thanks.

    Hi Badge,

Not too sure about student loans - there are a few threads abouton here somwhere - might be worth doing a search and reading them!!

Like I mentioned on a previous thread....Eggicon seem to be counterclaiming for the balance yes and I don't know how that effects paying it back - I would assume that you would have to enter another agreement, not ure though.

Egg have been hard to crack the mo. I'm trying to get the funds together to pay off my Egg card and then will claim against them.

he Ombudsmanicon looks like he might be making a ruling soon too though,

and yes, claiming back HP agreemets and loan agreements are exactly the same process!!

Hi, this is my first post so excuse me for being a little green on these issues.

I have at present £5500 debt on my Eggicon card. Is what you are saying that if I claim against them they are in their legal right to ask me for the full amount to be paid.

well, they are counterclaiming for the balance that is outstanding which they are allowed to do.

please read the other threads in the Eggicon forum to get a better understanding of how they hve been acting as I am not an expert!!!
