,y wife and myself recently purchased a used car.

we should of checked the car a lot better than we did, but we had a very distinct specification in mind we checked the parts we really wanted.

once home we looked more closely at the car and compared it to the description that was on the adverts on line, and it was missing quiet a lot of the items described.

although these items were not ones we set out to look for they are one that will alter the cost significantly come resale time.

the garage in question wants nothing to do with it.

whats my best way forward?

If you have the original advert, you can call in the Advertising Agency (sorry, don't know present name) and they may decide to take action against the garage for false advertising / mis representation.

The ASA will only tell the garage not to repeat the advert, so limited help. If you want to reject the car and get your money back you will need to formally reject the car, stop using it, rage the garage through the legal proceedings

If the specification was as important as you say then why on earth did you not make checks prior to handing over your hard earned?

At the bottom of every online advert on dealers own websites or third party platforms is a disclaimer saying that all specifications should be clarified. Often when one puts the car registration in the specifications that come up are incorrect. For example a Honda Jazz might not have a sunroof but most platforms assume they do.
