  • 4 weeks later...

I have had a reply from Lloyds banking group,

Pitreavie credit card operations (with a Halifax logo in the corner) .

They say i have not quoted a valid account number and can't trace my account with the details provided.

They want a 16 digit account number to assist with the enquiry.

If i can't provide that number they want full address details, dob or date account was opened.

They also mention that section 78 only applies during the lifetime of an agreement and if the account is closed and paid in full then there would no longer be an agreement between us.

Should i now reply to this letter with the requested details or do nothing?

I have the details they want.

They have the letter which i sent Robinson Way and attached it with the letter.

Not sure if its my responsibility to help/assist them find the cca after i requested it or its up to them to seek it on the details which Robinson Way have been using to ask me for monies.

thanks in advance for any advice

If RW are trying to collect on this account then it clearly wasnt paid in full so although the account is closed in Lloyds books, if there was an outstanding balance then a S78 request certainly does apply and they know it.

Many thanks for the replies/advice people.

All my letters from Robinson Way say that this is due to Lloyds Bank Plc.

I had a letter back in March from Lloyds saying that the debt is transferred to Robinson Way, there is no mention of being sold to them though.

I have had a further letter from Robinson Way.

It is brief and only mentions that they contacted the client to remind them that this is outstanding (my dispute/query) and will provide me with an update as soon as possible but as a minimum 5 weeks and my account remains on hold.

Well if lloyds cannot satisfy the s78 request then it will remain on hold until it reaches SB status and will then disappear, never to rear its head again.

dx,

The word Client is never used by Robinson Way in the 6 or so letters i have had from them. They always have a box which says "Due to : Lloyds Bank PLC" with the Robinson way account number, the account number linked to Lloyds (which as previously mentioned can't be used to find the cca) and the amount due.

Had a new letter today from Lloyds themselves which i have attached.

The interesting point is the letter includes the credit card number that they were asking me for so they could find the original cca, as they made out they didnt know the number.

Not sure why the letter says opening and closing balance?

It also does make reference to Robinson way.

Any thoughts what this letter means?

thanks for your interest
