We are currently in a new house and our hot water cylinder is not working but our house providers are saying because we did not service it after a year that our warranty is invalid and they will not repair it. Is this correct. We had a visual check done on it and all was ok. Where do we stand on this

Hi Yido and Welcome to CAG

By hot water cylinder...do you mean the the immersion heater as in a central heating system?

If so they are easily replaced ....turn of the electric supply...disconnect the electric feed.....unscrew the element from the tank (taking note the voltage and power)...pop down to your local B&Q ........its a 15 min job ...tops

Regards

Andy

Apologies not making it clear but new to this forum. It is a brand new house new build . It's just coming up to 2 years. We have a unvented system. The problem is with the cylinder water tank which is a tribune he put in by kingspan. The pressure gauge drops every day from 1.5 to around 0.4. We are having to repressure every day. We asked kingspan to repair it under the 2 year warranty but because we did not have the cylinder tank serviced at 1 year they say warranty is invalid. I had the boiler serviced at 1 year and thought this would include the cylinder but apparently it was a visual check only, which kingspan are saying is not good enough. Just wondering where we stand with this as driving me potty.
