I have had my car clamped for about a week now in front of my house.

I have appealed the case with TEC,

and I have had a response that it can be heard within 2 to 6 weeks time.

I need the car

what are my OPTIONS?

Should I pay or get the EA to remove the clamps?

The amount is £513.

Contact whoever authorised this action e.g council.

Clamping should only be done to seize a vehicle temporarily,

to seek payment or to remove vehicle for sale to cover the amount.

It is not supposed to be clamped for months.

You could pay the amount to get the clamp removed and if your appeal is succesfull then you will get a refund.

Others who know more about this, will hopefully comment later.

Can you please confirm basic details of the issue and what grounds have you stated in your appeal.

This will help people understand the current position better.

We could do with some help from you.

Back-story would be useful - why was it clamped? What is the sequence of events? Why have you "appealed the case with TEC" and what is the basis of your appeal?

Options right this second are to pay, or put up with it pending the outcome of your appeal. If you contact the council to point out the vehicle has potentially been clamped too long, they won't unclamp it - they will tow it away.

Traffic Enforcement Centre. From what i understand it is a central admin centre attached to Northampton court, where they record details of PCN's.

TEC don't really get involved with the PCNs themselves. They rubber stamp the bailiff warrants for councils. Once a bailiff has been instructed, there is a process to contest the warrant by filing papers with TEC, which is what I think the OP means.
