Had an issue with my HTC 10.

woke up one morning and the charger had pretty much melted and damaged the charging port.

Bit concerned because it could have caught fire.

This was using official charger btw.

I contacted HTC (I bought direct from them).

They were all concerned that no damage was caused etc and no-one was hurt.

But they insisted they could not replace but I had to send phone to them.

Its been over a month. I've been chasing for weeks.

Today they've come back to me and said its not covered by warranty and its £350+ to repair.

I've complained but they've said tough luck.

What can I do now?

Surely charging a phone with the proper charger is covered if theres a problem?

How long have you had the phone, and who did you buy it from?

direct from HTC

warranty isn't worth the paper it written on.

CRA is your friend.

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Right, I miss that. Thanks.

In that case, as DX has pointed out, the warranties rubbish. You are fully protected by the Consumer Rights Act – assuming that you bought it since October 2015. If you bought it before then, then you are equally protected by the Sale of Goods Act

Hmmm, seems to be another person who comes here for advice and then doesn't bother to hang around to see if he gets any replies
