Hi Everyone,

Can you please help me as

I got a Parking Charge notice while I was shopping in Asda with my son who is 1.

I didn’t have change for the ticket machine and by the time I sorted my son out who was kicking up a stink about the trolley I forgot to go and get the ticket.

After I came out I realized I had received the ticket stuck to my window.

I have approached the Store Manager who said they have nothing to do with the parking as its not owned by them

(which is a load of rubbish)

I also asked him for the details of the land owner and he said he does not have that information (again another fob off)

then said he sees me there all the time so I must be aware that I need to buy a ticket!!!!

Ok I’m a regular and you just fob me off - so much for customer appreciation!!!

I have not received anything in the mail yet as it’s not 14 days since this

- what is my next step?

I do have the till receipt that matches the Parking Notice.

Thank you so much in advance

- what is my next step?

Complain, IN WRITING, to the manager of the store, and escalate it to his area manager then the CEO.

Embarrass ASDA on social media for using a cowboy parking company to persecute its own customers.

Embarrass them in the local press too.

An ASDA near me used the same circus outfit to punish customers for spending money in their store, however it was very quickly pointed out to them, that not only where the signs inadequate, the pay machines were also incorrectly marked, the store reneged on its use of Parking lie, and now give customers a free 3 hour window to shop.

The more noise customers make to these stores that employ cowboy parking firms the better, there is no place for them in society, just as the cowboy clampers were made illegal, so too should their new job of private parking companies.

Who ever heard of someone getting a job at the Jobcentre? The unemployed are sent there as penance for their sins, not to help them find work!

next time you get a ticket on the window you WAIT to get the NTK through the post. Never respond to a screen ticket, it removes the protection you have in law against these bandits.

As advised, get on to ASDA as high up as you can. The store may help but what they will say is that as you have appealed to PE it is out of their hands. Rubbish, they just dont want to do anything. Get on to head office and get it cancelled as a genuine shopper.

As the parking is P7D you sghould also consider seeing if the council have granted permission forthis business to eb run in ASDA's car park. Tha Valuations Agency may also be interested as PE should be paying business rates if it is a separate enterprise from the store.

PE are past hands at telling lies to councils, the VA and courts though- it is difficult to avoid such situations when running a £200m a year business when you ahve no rights to.

Hi

I have not done anything with parking eye or in writing with reference to the ticket

I have spoke to asda only but nothing in writing.

Asda are saying to appeal to parking eye as they should void it as I am a genuine customer

but I haven't yet as I am not sure if i should yet

- I do have a copy of the till receipt to match the parking ticket but should i wait for the NTK ?

Thanks

No, you can correspond with the store.

They need the details so the ticket can be cancelled.

The only fly in the ointment is that obvioulsy some these details will have to be passed on and if they are lazy they just leave it to PE to do as they wish.

Unlike other companies PE get the wording on the NTK right so in this case I wouldnt sweat about the driver/keeper liability.

You have other things to look at if this doenst go to plan but it should.

Good plan, you can trust ParkingLie about as far as you could throw them! Print a copy to file as well, just in case something happens to your email.

Well done though ;)

Please note that my posts are my opinion only and should not be taken as any kind of legal advice.
In fact, they're probably just waffling and can be quite safely and completely ignored as you wish.

Given the relative ease with which Asda have arranged for this to be cancelled, I have to say that the attitude shown by the Store Manager, as you reported in your original post, is abominable, and you should make a formal complaint about his behaviour towards you to Asda head office.

That is what we like, the simple method. Glad it worked out for you.

TBH the store manager is just a small cog in a large mechanism and they arent that high up in the pecking order so do as they are told by their area manager, who does as they are told by their regional manager, who doeas as they are told by their divisional manager etc. That doesnt mean they cant try to be helpful though.
