Hi

Can someone please tell me how to proceed.

A company called Fidelite knocked on my door tonight but I wasn't home. He just handed my husband an envelope.

The debt is with Cabot and the original creditor is a Barclay loan.

Ive made no payments since 2012.

What is best to do? Do I set up a payment arrangement with them?

According to my file the Loan was taken out in 2005. I remember going through Payplan but when my husband lost his job I ceased all payments due to lack of money. The date of default is 13/07/2012 and the last payment made was Jan 2012.

DCA's are not BAILIFFS

never ever pay them or talk with them at your door or on the phone.

if they don't go away from your door call the police on 101

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

2 labs but soft of clarts. The kids are more frightening.

Sharpen the kids' teeth and let them loose !!

Seriously, any caller at your door has no power or authority unless there's been a court case and you lost. Tell them to go away, refuse to discuss the matter at all and tell them you're calling the police if they don't leave immediately.

You do NOT need to have any discussion with such a caller at all.

just to be clear

NO DCA has ANY POWERS even IF its been to court to be at your door or do anything like a bailiff can do EVER.

it would have to be a COURT BAILIFF SENT BY THE COURT ITSELF

or

an HCEO from the high court if they the DCA paid a fee

and that's VERY rare on a consumer debt
