Thread: Barclays and Barclaycard

Not sure on that one however, I offered to pay off my Barclaycard account in May this year with a settlement figure to get them off my back once and for all (so officially i still owe them money). I followed the procedures on this site which lead me to taking my claim to sheriffs court and on Wed (the day before the 'return date') i got a letter saying they would pay my claim, but they wanted to put it into my Barclaycard account, which has been closed since May 2006. I spoke to their solicitors and said i would accept their offer, but ONLY if paid to me via cheque. I also faxed a letter to them with my proposals as well so there was no misunderstandings. They agreed. I am now waiting for a cheque to arrive, so i would certainly give it a go. I made sure that on my court form i put i would only accept a cheque so they knew that from the start.
