Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights

After a number of complaints to MBNA over charges and interest increase i finally thought we were getting somewhere when we received a letter saying if we could get £566 nearly £1,000 less then what we owed (about what we believed it should be) they would onsider closing the debt and adjusting the credit file acordingly. We found this payment and wrote Full and final payment which we have being advised before(if cashed they accept). The payment has being cashed, but now we have a letter asking what our final settlement payment offer is and that if accepted they will put on the credit file partial settlement. This goes against the previous letter in which they offered us a final figure.
I have no idea what to do now as because we had to find that money straight away we have nothing left for christmas and i know from here they try things on but to do this when they obviously know what our settlement figure is just goes beyond belief.
Any help and advise would be greatfull received.
Thanks in advance.
I was just short of going through the legal route of obtaining money back from charges when this offfer came through and it appeared easier to pay.
if you have it in writing, then they have acted in bad faith, and i would write and tell them this.If they do not adhere to the terms of what they agreed prior, tell them you consider that arrangement null and void, and that you will be going back to Plan 'A' ie-getting your money back.
This should let them see you are not a pushover....

Yes is it in writing it even admits they tried to phone even though they had it in writing not to as we were only to deal with them via letter. I know they received this as they replied to it.
You just confirmed what i though would be best and with all the interest to add on they will be owing us.
We have being fighting this for two years before i found this site so we thought they were finally listening to people. How wrong can we be?
