Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Basically what has happened is that I have had £70 worth of bank charges to my current account because I paid for two items on my Switch Card when I was over my overdraft limit. The items I paid for were £2.75p and £10.05 at a tesco store on the same day. Can someone tell my why my card transaction went through without declining my card. Yet I was over my overdraft limit.
Is this allowed ??
It will be to do with timing of credits/debits, etc. and debits which may have been authorised to come out but have not actually come out, but come out soon after you have made the "misuse" purchases!
or, more likely a charges tactic from the bank!
What happens when you make a Switch transaction is "The funds are allocated for 24-48 hours" these are friozen/reserved on your account. The company should take the funds in this time. Some won't. If the company decides to wait 5 days to take them, the money is available in your account for a short while (this is where you have used your card and got a misuse fee because the company has then decided to take your money!).
