I have been working as a driving instructor for a company since May. THey owe me around £4,500 but are only paying me £400 per week, they say there's a weekly credit limit of £200 per week which they will pay me, as I've had to pay £210 franchise fee and petrol I am out of pocket. After speaking to them they have agreed to put it up to £400 per week but I still can't pay my bills. Anyone know if I have a leg to stand on to get the balance of my monies paid to me. Thanks in advance.

Are you an employee, or a contractor?

Is your contract with them written? If so, what does it say regarding payment terms (and any mention of interest for late payment?)

If a verbal contract, what was agreed?

Name and shame and then we can look into the terms and conditions of this contract

  • 1 month later...

how do your learners pay for their lessons? Whose vehicle is it (presume yours). What does your employer provide to you, ie equipment and customers, just custom, nothing? trying to work out the relationship as to whether you are employed or not.
