Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I've held a Capital One Classic credit card for approx 16 months. I gave them a deposit of £200 and have a £200 limit. This card was supposed to show other lenders I can use credit well and improve my credit rating.
I had a number of problems with money (and my ex) a few years ago. The debts were all repaid 19 months ago & are all showing as settled.
I have a mortgage and contract phone in addition to the Cap 1 card all of which run in their limit and correct payments are made on time every month.
So I thought I'd be fairly well equipped now to show I can manage credit. As I want to get away from Capital One I've just applied for an MBNA credit card. I was told that they couldn't offer me a card not because of the past adverse credit as that is showing as cleared. However, because I can't show I have managed credit since then. He said my Capital One card doesn't have a sufficient limit to prove I can manage credit - I need to prove it with a card with a bigger limit??!!
How do I do this?
I feel a bit in a catch 22 situation - Capital One limits are only increased by the computer and reading peoples experience on here that's not going to happen overnight.
