Nat West sem to be stringing it out right til the bitter end, I'm afraid there's probably still a bit of waiting. I think about 5-6 months seems to be norm in most cases!!

It was my understanding that you didn't have to respond and that you just sat tight and waited I am sure if I'm wrong then someone will correct me. Nat West have proven to be amongst the most difficult of the banks to deal with but hopefully now you (and mum) won't have to wait much longer.

    ok time for an update
so far sent prelim, lbaicon, started court claim, acknowledged claim, subbmitted defence, recived aqicon, sent aq back with £100, recieved cobbetts aq, got court date for march 7th.

ok after hearing that a few who had started way after my mum had recieved their settlements i got my mum to phone cobbetts to find out what is going on seemed strange that she hadnt got hersconsidering what stage she is at.
seems that according to them they still havent recieved a response from my mum against the second offer they made just before xmas luckly mum sent it recorded del and they got it 28th dec. mum told them on the phone that she was not going to accept the £1700 and that she is willing to go to court, she then got told that it was down to their clients to decide if she was to be paid . to which my mum pmsl said well if i dont hear from you soon i will see you on the 7th then.
i had to laugh as its not like my mum to say things like that which is why im doing her claim.
so it sounds like the postie might be bringing something nice to her door v soon.

my mum wanted to thank each and every one of you for help given and that a donationicon will be made when it clears.
she only phoned up as last time she spoke to them they said they couldnt find the letter dated 27th dec rejecting thier offer and she had sent an updated schedule with all court costs on and interesticon (to make sure they paid up everything lol) and was told that yes they had found the letter sorry for delay but that a cheque had been requested and had been sent you should have heard her on the phone it was funny it was nice to hear my mum laugh again.

    Hi, Angela

That's disgraceful behaviour but not unexpected.

Has your mum discontinued her claim yet? I hope not. She can drop them a line, pointing out that she still hasn't received the cheque despite promises - and with some pretty tissue-thin excuses to boot. And advise them that she will not discontinue her claim until she is in receipt of cleared funds. If they wish to settle before going to court on 7th March, they should allow any cheque to clear in plenty of time before that date.

no have not done anything with the claim not until full amount in her account
now then she has spoken to someone at Natwesticon gave her the first el number in the contact list lol and a nice gent there has said the cheque will be sent tommorow and my mum will get it on sat (we hope) and as a goodwill gestureicon he is putting into her account overnight all the charges she has had since putting in her claim at court so if he is genuine it will show tommorow but he did say that if people send in thier claim to the borehamwood address they are now paying out straight away so there is hope for my aunties claim lol
