I'm hoping there is somebody around in this forum that maybe be able to help.

Here goes:-

So, like many other back in 2007,2008 and 2009 i sent a letter to Santander complaining about the bank charges i had received etc.

Unfortunately at the time i decided to do it, it was around the summer of 2009. They got there way with the courts as we all know etc etc.

Now i dropped this and didn't pursue it, since my account was closed, with bank charges i might add. (not sure of the amount)

So 4/5 years down the line from the bank account being closed by santander, i received a letter this morning from there debt collectors they use stating i owe them £435 from (santander ltd).

This has made me angry, disillusioned, many feelings as im sure you can relate, as after everything about the bank charges, it was them who put me overdrawn in the first place by charging interest on a ZERO balance.

Has anybody got any advice on what my point of call should be, because like hell i feel i should give them the money (something i cant afford)

Should i renew my complaint on the charges? Should i just dispute the debt?

Any advice,input will be much appreciated.

I would say read here, I completed a claim against LLoyds and they gave in

I've started with a letter.Santanders main office is Bradford, close to me.

I shall hand deliver it myself

so robbersway chasing an old Santander bank OD which is all or mostly charges

you say this was 2009?

where did YOU last use the account?

If its causing you hardship and distress they will listen to you.

You may not need to go down the legal route

have they wiped charges before for you?

Have they said the account is closed or in default?
