I am currently opening a FlexBasic account with Nationwide - got the letter to ask for ID

I provided this and they are asking for stuff from my previous address.

I have been living at my current address for nearly 2 years and nothing with my previous address is valid as its out of date.

I have P60's and various letters from people but nothing thats on thier list.

Well take that and show them it :) , they are quite flexible :) Take as many documents as you can :)

If you cannot produce any of the documents from the tables, please contact your local branch as there may be other forms of identification you can use.

  • 2 weeks later...

Quick update. They accepted my account with just my UK Passport. I paid in £800 cash on Saturday.

Something is bothering me and hopefully its just me being paranoid after my barclays problems.

The amount on my account shows as £800 but available funds as £200 (I paid 600 to my credit card to pay back all the bills from last month. I did this over the weekend and its still not showing on online banking. Is this normal?

Hi,

Yes, it can take a few days to show, well mine's does anyway.

Any advice I give is honest and in good faith.:)

Thanks. Sorry I am just really panicky about any potential problems after barclays just closed my account on me.

Hi,

Yes I have read your other thread, not good the way you were treated though there can be numerous reasons they decided to close or not open as it turns out, your account with them.

I wouldn't let it get to you too much, hopefully your new account with Nationwide will run smoothly, I have an account with them and never had any problems.
