Hi,
Applied for loan that runs alongside our current mortgage and was turned down due to having 2 default notices against me.
1 - was for an Egg loan that when changing banks and filling in the online D.D form, 2 payments were missed (from memory) and then the loan was passed to Moorcroft Debit recovery, never missed a payment with them. Didnt think that this would show on credit history as a default and Egg refused to take my account back.
2 - Mint, have given me a default even though I am paying a min agreed payment with them, I did struggle with the payments to start with and missed some but I havent missed a payment in 12mnths or so now.
My question is, how do I go about removing the defaults so I can keep the wife happy and have the 'new' kitchen??
You have, unfortunately, defaulted on your payments with the creditors! So they are within their rights to issue one onto your credit file, even for one payment.
However, you could always write to them nicely and ask them to remove them, as 1) was by mistake and 2) was when you got in touch to come to an agreement.
However, if you are in an arrangement to pay your credit card back (presumably due to inability to pay) should you really be thinking about taking out a loan?
