on another facet of this I worked with some US spooks not that many years back, they justified everything they did as being necessary to protect the US and that their actuions were nowhere as nasty as our enemies actions.That mindset and their protection from any sort of accountability was frightening. this discussion was at a drinks party after we had been blazing away on a pistol range used by the US Navy in High St Kensington. Even their lawyers carried guns. I can understand certain pople being exempt form S.1 and 5 of the firearms act but a foreign solicitor?

So, there is a real level of unaccountablility that most consiracy theorists use to justify their other claims and I'm sure that suits all the parties concerned. How can you scrutinise something that is as clear as mud

You never know - the FBI investigation might do that, but then again - probably not.

Even if the election were found to be rigged it is far too late now, as unless they found out a conspiracy involving Trump, then he would not face impeachment. I discussed this with a US Lawyer who knows about such issues and he said that once each state has ratified the result, it was very difficult to go back to hold elections again. It would take years of court actions and cost huge sums, therefore it would be very unlikely.

In a general sense all governments interfere with the workings of all other governments, that is what diplomats are there for. We know that the US tapped Angela Merkel's phones, perhaps the Germans tap the French president's. We interfere with the running of the Irish Republic by using both a diplomatic approach and a financial cosh. If Scotland get independence ours respective governments wont be leaving the other alone to get on with things.

THe US is famous for its involvement in many foreign elections, including some that ended the democracy for the country after their interference.

Russia will have played the Republicans againt the Democrats in the election. I doubt if they could have any real effect on the outcome overall as the US populace was given the worst choice of canditate ever, a crook or a charlatan. I bet every person wished they had another box to tick "anyone except these two" so seasoned democrats voted for Trump and vice versa
