Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I sent an S.A.R - (Subject access request) resquest to The Woolwich along with the £10.00 fee and was sent all statements in a nicely sealed brown enveleope. Also enclosed, as well as all statements was a list of charges.
I double checked against the statements (call me paranoid but hey) and it all added up. Then added the interest.
Then sent the CLaim form and covering letter back to Local Branch. This was on the 3.11.06.
Very ncie letter sent from the Branch informing me that the request was being passed to HQ.
A week later I get a nice long letter from the H.Q. requesting that I give them 40 days to look into this rather than 14.
Now, out of curtesy, I am willing to do this. However, is this the best option or should I just shown No Mercy and crush them with a 14 day limit.
no they are just using stalling tactics stick to your deadlines ! pre lim letter then 14 days lba then 14 days 28 days notice in all then issue your money claim online !

Re: Ron Vs Woolwich
Just send the lba when the 14 days are up Ron, between the two letters you will have already informed them. Don't give them any extra time - they are just playing with you!

Re: Ron Vs Woolwich
You'll have to join the debate on that one Ron, local branch or Bexleyheath or Clacton-on-sea or Straight to Barclays HQ @ 1 Churchill place. Read all the FAQ's and Woolwich/Barclays threads - not forgetting the successes forum.
Your certainly doing no harm posting /delivering to local branch, it all gets where it has to get in the end.
RIght, been away for a while but now ready to take em to Court
I have caculated the total to £1663,32 (inc interest)
Now I am trying to work out my Daily interest and have been told to take the full amount (exlc Court Fees) and times by 0.0022. This gives me a figure of 3.659304 This seems a tad incorrect.
Can anyone advise as I would like to get the CLaim in today.
many thanks,
Ron

Re: Ron Vs Woolwich
Its 0.0002 then Ron making 37p a day. I applied this figure to total charges before interest - I'm not sure wheteher that was right or not. In any case I can't see the Bank challenging that paltry figure!
