Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Firstly, I'd like to say Hi to all members, I only joined this site today and would like to say how impressive it is.
Now to my question: I have 2 credit card accounts with Lloyds TSB that I stopped using 2 years ago. I no longer have any details of the card numbers or kept any old statements, as when the accounts were closed we distroyed all documentation from the accounts (yep, silly in hindsight I know!! )
So, can I still claim for charges on these accounts, and if so how can I dredge up the account numbers?
Hope this question is posted in the right forum, my apolgies in advance if it's not
Write to the bank and give them the approximate dates that the accounts were opened and closed.
Your name and address (obviously), also supply any other addresses that applied during the time that the accounts were open.
Enclose some printed utility bills as proof of identity, with the offer of providing any other information they require to verify your identity.
Good luck.
Incidentally, you can claim back up to six years (November 2000).
