Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.

a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
My account's a bit of a muddle. The account was closed and passed to a debt collection agency (Fredrikson) whom I paid some of the debt to. I seem to recall having paid some monies to Egg to and having checked my account with them online the figure they have is indeed less than the debt collection company are after, so I think I've been paying amounts to both companies who have their own idea of my balance but not the right one. Argh!
MBNA - £1733 refunded.
Egg - £200 owed - sending LBA
Clydesdale Bank - £180 so far. More to come...
I think you could write to the DCA to ask them for the details of the debt- send them a SAR. Also, you can have a look see at the following link: http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk...es-credit.html
Could you pay straight to Egg, cutting out the DCA?
I was thinking of offering the DCA an amount which would reflect the subtraction of these fees. Having read the thread you linked I see that DCAs buy debts from the credit companies at a severely reduced rate and would therefore be up for this sort of deal?
