Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I spoke to a customer services agent who gave me an estimate of fees which have been levied upon over the years by Barclaycard.
They totalled in the region of £580
Silly hting is I did not start by asking for the SAR, I wrote to Barclaycard using one of the templates.
After about 28 days they wrote back saying that they were willing to repay the difference between the old rate and the new £12 rate and offered me £192 back. On the letter it said if we dont hear from you in 8 weeks we will assume you are happy with the outcome.
Then I went to use my card and it was declined, called them up and Barclaycard automatically placed the £19 into my account without my authorisation...
Is this normal procedure ? Also im unsure as to if I should accept the partial refund or if I can claim the whole lot, given I dont have a hard copy of the charges.
