    Default jharrod vs Barclays **WON**

    (Pretty ****ed off)

    Hi there,

Over the past 6 yearsicon, I have been hampered with charges to my bank account, for which I have always seen as legitimate.

    (Extremely unhappy)

However, a friend pointed out to me that in actual fact, these charges are recoverable and showed me this site.

    (Considering the procedure)

I have taken time to read through announcements, documents and posts and I had not known that soo many people have been in my situation, but have made legitimate claims for recovering these charges, and most if not all, have succeeded.

Following sound advice from my friend, and a willingness to follow where many have trod, I have taken on the same process that they followed. I am aware of the possibilty that a lengthy process may ensue my decision, but I believe that it will not only give me a good chance of reclaiming those charges back, I also have the belief that it will improve my motivation and will allow me to be more forceful in other cicumstances that require the same attitude.

(Very content about persuing the process)

I have started the journey by sending off my S.A.R letter to the following address:

    Barclaysicon Bank PLC
    Head Office - Custom Relations
    1 Churchill Place
    London E14 5HP

What I need to know now is which letters to send off using Recorded Delivery.

From hereon in, my battle with Barclays commences!

(Feeling good taking the biggest step, action)

Hi. Congratulations on setting the ball rolling.
I am also new to this but from what I have read in the threads I would think its best to send all letters so that a signatureicon is required. You can check on Royal Mail website as to when they have been signed for, and if neccesary print off a copy of the signature for your records.
    Good luck and best wishes.

Hello Montedarlo, cheers for the reply.

I have checked the Royal Mail webite and 68p plus the cost of a stamp is definately worth the effect. What are your circumstances then, if you don't mind saying?

Once again, thanks for the reply.

Hi, sent SARicon to Barclays, Barclaycard, MBNAicon.
Also got to send SARicon to GE Money x 2, Mastercard and Morgan Stanley.
Forgot totally about Mastercard an Morgan until I saw my statements and realised that accounts I thought I last used over 6yr ago were in fact getting payments in 2004. Could be a bit of a bonus.
    Best wishes

I still need to do Barclaycard and Natwesticon, but I'll probably start them once I get an initial reply back from Barclaysicon.

Would GE Money be River Island by any chance? I did have a store card with them and although I never actually brought anything from there and never used my card, they still took money out of the account. Can I claim back off that also?

Keep me updated with your progress and I'll do the same. Together we can claim back all those unecessary charges

Hi, sorry but I cant help you with the River island issue but I am sure someone can. I haven't looked at this yet but I am not sure if its possible to claim from Barclaysicon your Barclaycard charges on the same claim as the bank account. I understand that multiple accounts can be claimed together as long as the joint claim plus interesticon is below 5k so that it can be dealt with the small claims court. Am i right ??
Sorry for asking questions on your thread but it could be beneficial for us both (and others).
    Best wishes

I'm not too worried about anything apart from Barclaysicon at the moment. Want to get the ball rolling with that and wait for the them to reply.

I'm not too knowledgeable with regards to multiple claims and how they work, but I do know that it's best to keep below 5k in whatever claim you pursue, just to keep it in the small claims arena.

Don't be sorry about asking questions my friend Asking questions is how you get information. I believe it will be of benefit to us as well as others who visit this site and forum in particular.

All for one and one for all !
Barclaysicon was my major concern until I got my statements. Then I realised most of my charges related to my other credit cards (paid by direct debiticon)
Still waiting for Barclaycard and MBNAicon statements, they have until the 28/11/06.
Follow my threads, I will keep an eye on yours.

I had a quick check on what statements i have here, they go back as early as 1998 but there is a hell of a lot missing, which is where I'm hoping Barclaysicon do me a favour and fill the gaps.

I have also created a post in the main welcome forum, just to introduce myself to the rest of the site, and to see if there are any other Barclays pursuers out there.

I will definately keep an eye on your threads, and thanks for saying you'll keep an eye on mine.

Hello Jharrod good to see you are rolling.
You will find lots of info in other Barclaysicon claimants threads.
Top and bottom of things,as a Barclays claimant myself is that they take it to the wire and are not quick at all.
No doubt you will have dealings with Keith Jeremiah in the future Barclays chief litto.
The data protection office at Knutsford are quite helpful really off the top of my head I forget the guys name there but he is ok for calling with enquiries.
Many claimants have had probs with Barclaycard tho in concerns to their arguements that their microfiche statements only go back to I think May 2003 (dont quote me as its widely known )......Again you will learn more about this by reading other threads rather than asking specific questions.
Both Barclays and Barclaycard are keen to get sigs on confidentiality so the info thats available from settled claims does not truly reflect the results....as they withdraw into oblivion.
However there is enough here to answer all your questions if you look around.
As regards the river Island card..I will see what I can find out for you.
I have a good database in my files on who is associated to who so I will come back to you.
Meantime its good to see you two working together in the true nature and spirit of the site and many claimants before you.

Ok here we are River Island storecards as with many other of the High Street Chains their cards are operated through GE money.
No strangers at all to this site.
Heres a good link for contact details and some info too.
You will find more bout them in the other institutions section of the main bank threads !

    Many thanks Martin.
As you may of read I have 2 forthcoming claims with GE money, one of them involves an Early Redemption Penalty (from igroup) plus charges and a joint loan (First National) which has been going on for ever.
I will set up a thread when I start the claims
Hopefully jharrod wont mind this but I am sure we would both be grateful of any advice and help you can offer.

    Good evening all,

I have received the standard "Please be aware that the Bank is not under obligation to present information in any particular format" letter.

It's been 7 days since my request so now I'm going to give them the rest of the 40 day period to provide the statments.

However, I'm not too sure if they are just wanting to deliberately annoy me, or it was a typing error, but they referred to me as a Mrs instead of a Mr (see image in the link below).

    http://d.1asphost.com/jaysupport/Any...had%20this.JPG

I am not one to get annoyed by mistakes such as this, but I want to make them see this as a hurtful misrepresentation of gender. After all, I had clearly stated my title as Mr on the letter I sent to them.

    Many thanks
    J

    Hi elizw

So you got the usual reply offering half the amount. Following the guidelines of this site, you should request the full amount; it's the least you can do so that your daughter receives all that she's entitled to.

I'm just waiting for the initial statements from Barclaysicon and I'm starting with Natwesticon tomorrow; have the list of charges made and letter created.

Good luck with your claim and keep us posted on your progress.

Apologise for leaving you confused there. It could be to do with the fact that it's pretty late and I'm not concentrating, or I'm just trying to be over careful by requesting further details. Amended the linked image for good measure.

I Read your PM and I will act upon it. Many thanks for that.

I don't hold much hope of getting statements that soon, but I'm hoping they do come before Christmas.

    Thanks again.

Hi, I read your PM and I will act upon it. Regarding the changes, please disregard that question. I am simply gong to search my posts and amend them so that my true name does not appear...but only after a good night sleep, which is where I am off to now.

As with the drunkeness, I think I may just be able to forgive you I think I'll have one big drinkathon should my claim be successful in the end.

Good luck and best wishes in return. Now go and get some water inside you and get to bed. If you're a person who suffers from hangovers, the water is an excellent pre morning cure ;-)
