    • Thanks Dx. Still finding my way around this forum thing. Cant tell you how grateful I am for all the help. Just submitted the 75 to Natwest. Fingers crossed.
    • ok nothing historic there then. dx
    • Hi All,  I have tried to use my own words as much as possible, any better suggestions are welcome.  I have been sleepless and hence i can't really think of alternative words, will definitely give it another go if you have points that i may have left out? Worry
    • Thanks all for all your input. I have decided to follow this all the way. So far, I have not replied to Alliance Parking's original NTK letter. The time-period for the reduced amount has now finished, and the time to appeal (21 days from the date of letter) will finish on 25th Apr. No further comms received from Alliance Parking. Could you please guide me, for my readiness, on what happens next? Am I going to start receiving letters from Alliance Parking > Debt Collector letters > Letter of Claim? Who sends me the Letter of Claim - Alliance Parking / Debt Collectors / Solicitors / court? How many weeks / months from now is this likely to be? Once Alliance Parking passes the debt off to the Debt Collectors, is there a risk of anyone turning up at the door? Do I need to reply to any other letters from either the parking company, debt collectors, or solicitors? Many thanks in advance.
    • I've just noticed this so wanted to my apologies for my response to this yesterday I didn't realise his name was worry, I thought you meant worry as in be concerned not referring to his name.   My apologies.

    • Hello,

On 15/1/24 booked appointment with Big Motoring World (BMW) to view a mini on 17/1/24 at 8pm at their Enfield dealership.

Car was dirty and test drive was two circuits of roundabout on entry to the showroom.  Was p/x my car and rushed by sales exec and a manager into buying the mini and a 3yr warranty that night, sale all wrapped up by 10pm.  They strongly advised me taking warranty out on car that age (2017) and confirmed it was honoured at over 500 UK registered garages.

The next day, 18/1/24 noticed amber engine warning light on dashboard , immediately phoned BMW aftercare team to ask for it to be investigated asap at nearest garage to me. After 15 mins on hold was told only their 5 service centres across the UK can deal with car issues with earliest date for inspection in March ! Said I’m not happy with that given what sales team advised or driving car. Told an amber warning light only advisory so to drive with caution and call back when light goes red.

I’m not happy to do this, drive the car or with the after care experience (a sign of further stresses to come) so want a refund and to return the car asap.

Please can you advise what I need to do today to get this done.

      Many thanks

    • We have finally managed to obtain the transcript of this case.

The judge's reasoning is very useful and will certainly be helpful in any other cases relating to third-party rights where the customer has contracted with the courier company by using a broker.
This is generally speaking the problem with using PackLink who are domiciled in Spain and very conveniently out of reach of the British justice system.

Frankly I don't think that is any accident.

One of the points that the judge made was that the customers contract with the broker specifically refers to the courier – and it is clear that the courier knows that they are acting for a third party. There is no need to name the third party. They just have to be recognisably part of a class of person – such as a sender or a recipient of the parcel.

Please note that a recent case against UPS failed on exactly the same issue with the judge held that the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 did not apply.

We will be getting that transcript very soon. We will look at it and we will understand how the judge made such catastrophic mistakes. It was a very poor judgement.
We will be recommending that people do include this adverse judgement in their bundle so that when they go to county court the judge will see both sides and see the arguments against this adverse judgement.
Also, we will be to demonstrate to the judge that we are fair-minded and that we don't mind bringing everything to the attention of the judge even if it is against our own interests.
      This is good ethical practice.

It would be very nice if the parcel delivery companies – including EVRi – practised this kind of thing as well.

How can I be against legalisation? I might have been the straight one in the family, can't speak for my younger siblings hahahaha. I know of a pot plant being grown on the high seas. I am not saying any more than that.

This is what my Nanna grew and where http://www.nytimes.com/2014/07/20/business/international/tasmania-big-supplier-to-drug-companies-faces-changes.html?_r=0

I do know how to grow the plants in the tropics in a paddock. Yes the stuff Dad grew was lower grade and for textile uses but it still had to be grown under strict control.

I think the OH is getting to old to worry about wacky backy, he gave up puffing nicotine over 30 years ago. I could put his military pension to good use if it was legalised.

I like the idea of becoming a very rich woman in my third life. I might have to buy an Aga to dry the leaves.

A very interesting story. And i am now getting a picture of your younger days back in Australia.

And i believe you are 70ish now so nice to have traveled back in time and remember your childhood days.

Hope you have made plenty of friends to tell your tales of days gone by.

Slightly more serious now.

Paul Flynn, Labour MP for Newport West, to lead debate on 12 October, though campaigners not hopeful that law will be changed as a result.

Well i believe there are twelve MPS to debate. And will try to find out who they are.

Because i believe they need to be asked how much research and time they have spent looking at what they are about to debate.

MPS have many things going on in their lives, many subjects to cover.

I remember when Payday Loans were debated many times i felt like throwing my TV through the window such was the farce at times.

Can not do it all myself so when i find out who they are maybe you would ask them a few questions before the date. This week really. If you do tell us if they reply.

Perhaps there is a group who already have,do you know.Give a link if this is so.

Now it has been mentioned if legalised it could affect powerful industries cost them money.

So who benefits who gains. Also if powerful ones are already applying pressure on MPS,getting in touch with their top people working on things.

I do not know the other MPs who are to debate do you.

I know i will ask Paul Flynn he will know.Ask how much research has been carried out by others who will debate. What he thinks.

Because i have read one article that says they may not be looking at things hard enough.

I am reading many articles of benefits to people medically.

Seen many of job creation prospects.

Tax revenue, instead of criminal activity and police time being wasted, court times, jail times.Gang related, people creeping about.

Farmers growing Hemp for replacing plastic products instead of polluting the Earth and Seas for future generations. As true this present time.

Plant product so fair to say.

Enough for now i feel but may add more later today.Got a little digging to do,gardening etc. Ready for a new crop, sorry bulbs, not marijuana yet:-)

You can bet the pharmaceutical companies would not want this legalised for personal use. I wonder how hard their lobbyists are leaning on the researchers.?

My Mum used to be funny, she did suggest planting pot plants in with the tomato plants. I can't grow tomatoes here in England, they never ripen before the first frosts, so unless I use my Conservatory I can't see me growing Pot in my garden here. I have my bubs planted already. I am surprising myself this year.

Slacker policing has coincided with a rise over the past five years of cannabis “social clubs” in Britain. There are now around 80 of these non-profit organisations. Debate packs are produced quickly after the announcement of parliamentary business. They are intended to provide a summary or overview of the issue being debated and identify relevant briefings and useful documents, including press and parliamentary material. More detailed briefing can be prepared for MPs on request.

Although not much use to those that are wanting a higher dose of THC-The part of Cannabis that gives you the spiritual high many say.

Skunk thoughts i believe from the bud, well much higher THC level perhaps 5 times as much, so need to be careful there.

Certainly seems to make people think, calm them down, peace man thoughts.

Let me think also of Hemp the crop that could tame plastics the scourge of the Earth the seas.

http://www.greenpeace.org/internatio.../trash-vortex/

So farmers need to get cracking and grow the crops that would produce the goods to replace plastics.

From seed to harvest --

Hemp is the miracle plant of our time, breathing in 4x the carbon dioxide (CO2) of trees during it's quick 12-14 week growing cycle. Trees take 20 years to mature vs 4 months for Industrial Hemp!

And stop the greed of the supermarkets who are cashing in on this problem, importing plastic carrier bags and goods from China increasing damage to the Earth, skies and seas.

They have worked out things so well.Thicker bags pushing them on you.I have seen this over the last week or so.

I can find figures for 5p flimsy bags, but no figures of profit made since law was introduced on profit on carrier bags and reusables in Scotland,Wales and Ireland since.

The Trash Vortex

http://www.greenpeace.org/international/en/campaigns/oceans/fit-for-the-future/pollution/trash-vortex/

And would increase jobs in this industry massively. In Great Britain.

I must admit my business idea updating shopping trolleys, modernising thoughts, maybe i should have done this.

Seen many youngsters about with the old looking trolleys out there on the street.

Back to business, side tracked for a moment.

A oldish article.

Hemp Farming in the UK is very profitable if you are within 200 miles of Suffolk

http://www.fwi.co.uk/community/topic/hemp-farming-in-the-uk-is-very-profitable-if-you-are-within-200-miles-of-suffolk/

And now a American article with a surprising British connection.

A tip for American farmers: Grow hemp, make money

http://www.latimes.com/opinion/op-ed/la-oe-fine-hemp-marijuana-legalize-20140626-story.html

Hemp webbing in his parachute saved George H.W. Bush's life in World War II.

The canvas that put the "covered" in pioneer covered wagons was made of hemp.

Thomas Jefferson drafted the Declaration of Independence on hemp paper

I believe In Canada the market is now worth One Billion dollars.

American farmers have been watching as Canadian farmers clear huge profits from hemp: $250 per acre in 2013. By comparison, South Dakota State University predicts that soy, a major crop, will net U.S. farmers $71 per acre in 2014.

Hemp takes half the water that wheat does, and provides four times the income. Hemp is going to revive farming families in the climate change era.

You would need to be wearing blinkers not to see what Hemp could do in Great Britain. For jobs,farmers,manufacturing..

Britain's Marks and Spencer department store chain used hemp fiber insulation in a new flagship outlet. "Hempcrete" outperforms fiberglass insulation.

No 3-I know if anyone is out there reading this, this is what you are waiting for.-let me have a moment or two, have a cup off tea a puff on my ecig 20 minutes or so 22 05 pm

22-40 PM.

Personal thought are that Cannabis use and growing of under strict conditions must be

decriminalised sooner or later after debate.

It is clear that millions of people in Great Britain are growing and consuming this product.

In every town and City there are shops selling products linked to Cannabis.

I have smelt it at least 6 times this week while walking around

on a calm day.It must have been noticed by many in their neighbourhoods.

People out in the garden, hiding in houses, behind doors worrying about things.

Widows open, the smell carrying slowly down the streets in the mists.

Perhaps a touch of dramatics there, you know what i mean.

How many of you have smelt it lately when weather is calm.

If millions of people are consuming illegally this product, gangs and criminals are dealing anyway.

Creeping around neighbourhoods, using houses and parts of the countryside to grow this product.

Wasting police, courts, and jail resources. And time and expenses related.

Taxes raised, which would be massive, part off must be put aside, just in case of some needing help.

And a industry would be created with many legal jobs.

My thoughts as a ex Entrepreneur makes me lick my lips, and rub my hands together.

The thought of a crop producing products, and jobs created and supplier off labour.Cornering of the market.

Thoughts of Superstores, coffee houses, licensed, and strict conditions on these of course.

By local councils, creating jobs once again. From seed to plant, strict conditions so crime does not move in.

But would crime move in,it would not be worth it surely

I can see things like that in America if one State is allowed and the State next to is not.Obviously gangs will buy from the State that is legal then move to the other State to supply.

Age of course 22 or above.Tests carried out on drivers regularly. There are always some who will drive while under the influence. And deserve everything they get.

As they do now anyway,no consideration for others.Brain dead and always will be.Selfish.

Enough for now i feel.I think although slightly mixed up you know how i feel now anyway.

But will take time to set up,you can see that of course.

What do you feel about this subject.I am sure many do not agree.

A treat for you now. As it is Saturday night.A place where a MP was kept when he did not behave himself.

IDS perhaps.

Some may feel it should be used again for wayward MPS-only joking you never know who may be reading this.

A bit of History.

Tory minister slammed for 'ignoring evidence' cannabis should be legalised

I personally feel that one or two MPS had not researched hard enough and their minds were made up before even stepping in the room.

And no matter what evidence there was would not move.

Blinkered .

As some of us had expected. But that is their right. What debate is all about i suppose.

But at least many, not all agreed that medicinal use of Cannabis should be allowed legally.

But where do we go from here.

What is the next stage.

Well one thing is for sure.If and when their are developments they will appear here. For sure.

Adios

How can a god given plant be illegal anyways!?

I agree, but our masters seem to know what it best for us, woe betide if you disagree.

Alcohol has always been tolerated as the chosen drug of choice for the masses, I accept some great works of art/ inspiration can be the product of alcohol but overall it just makes people forget the life they are forced to lead, whereas cannabis makes you think and that is the last thing the system wants.

Just bringing this thread back to life.

I was talking to a person the other day.

He had had a skin cancer. One of the treatments he used he said was a Cannabis Cream.

Now i know only from reading this thread really about this.

I am talking about for medicinal use.THC removed.

Is there a possibility that maybe decades ago this medicine was known about its healing effects but because of the Billions Pharmaceutical Companies make from pills etc.It was forced into the background. What do you think.

A article.

Cannabidiol—CBD—is a cannabis compound that has significant medical benefits, but does not make people feel “stoned” and can actually counteract the psychoactivity of THC. The fact that CBD-rich cannabis is non-psychoactive or less psychoactive than THC-dominant strains makes it an appealing option for patients looking for relief from inflammation, pain, anxiety, psychosis, seizures, spasms, and other conditions without disconcerting feelings of lethargy or dysphoria.

It is no so much the pharmaceutical companies that have pushed cannabis back, they want it legalised so they can do research to make medicines from the plant, more the chemical industry and cotton industry who spend millions on lobbying to keep cannabis illegal it all boiled down to the fact that hemp was a far stronger longer lasting material than cotton which would impact on repeat sales for the clothing industry and due to cannabis natural pesticides it would impact the chemical industry sales that relies on the cotton industry due to the cotton plant having no real natural resistance to pests.

Hi trebormoinet.

3 years nearly since this thread was started.

I was going to post about Billy over the weekend, but then the medicine was given so calmed down a touch.

But a petition is doing the rounds and a lot of people have signed it.So will put it here with a few links.

I imagine now that it is going to be legal for medicinal purposes - people will start asking for it to be legalised in all forms !

As an alcoholic myself I do understand this interesting debate in all forms. I am going to be very honest and say when I needed to lose weight I switched to vegetarian food and alcohol. That allowed me to lose weight quickly as dieting is difficult and often described as hard and boring. But because I can drink and not put weight on at the same time I could actually enjoy being on a diet if that makes sense?? As for the debate on legalising cannabis, I know my ex's sisters child was told to take the stuff from his own doctor!

This herb is known as a 'mandrake' and of course is natural. I support the use for medicine, but not for recreation. I have enough trouble with the alcohol addiction let alone something else. Btw I have used the alcohol as a self medication in the past to help me through difficult times and I found it really helped. Just my opinion of course :-)

I would also like to add a footnote in that when all food prices shot up 10 years ago, alcohol wasn't effected so much? But nthe anti-alcohol brigade started whingeing that alcohol was too cheap, actually it wasn't, it was only cheap(er) by comparison! Food prices were very high. This led to some prices of alcohol being increased :-( and the local councils' pricing policy.

Mandrake is a different plant to cannabis.

cannabis stays in the system for over a fortnight so you will get more problems like the one where the train driver killed a passenger when he crashed into the buffers under the influence despite not smoking the stuff for several days. Also the link between mental health problems and cannabis cannot be ignored. Much worse than smoking cigarettes as far as lung damage goes when comparing like for like.

Medicinal use of cannabis products should be legal, same as the use of opiates and cocaine derivatives is under prescribed conditions but this isnt the same as saying a 10 year old is being allowed a limited application so lets have a free for all. Governments sometimes have to make decisions that are for the public good despite those decisions trampling over peoples rights. that is why we vote for them, to do the work we dont want to face up to ourselves. yes, they get a nice stipend for doing so and get to do a bit of grandstanding but sometimes the decisions can be tough. Look at the legalisation of homosexual acts or the abolition of capital punishment. At the time these were most contentious issues and public opinion wasnt with the law makers

cannabis stays in the system for over a fortnight so you will get more problems like the one where the train driver killed a passenger when he crashed into the buffers under the influence despite not smoking the stuff for several days.

There is no evidence at all that Cannabis was factor in that accident pure speculation.

How many people are killed each year drink driving?

Also the link between mental health problems and cannabis cannot be ignored. Much worse than smoking cigarettes as far as lung damage goes when comparing like for like.

Again there is no evidence at all for your claims in fact Cannabis eats cancer cells and smoking is not the only way to consume Cannabis.

Breathing air damages lungs !

Medicinal use of cannabis products should be legal, same as the use of opiates and cocaine derivatives is under prescribed conditions but this isnt the same as saying a 10 year old is being allowed a limited application so lets have a free for all.

You need to get some background, 40,000 children Today life could be changed if cannabis was legalised.

Remember Billy would have died had he not received Cannabis, out of all the substances out there Cannabis was the only one that could save billy's life.

10s of thousands of lives could have been saved in the past.

Cannabis deaths = 0

Governments sometimes have to make decisions that are for the public good

Clearly not based on fact else Cannabis would have been legalised years ago !

The Health Benefits of Cannabis

1. It Can Help You Lose Weight

If you’re an avid Green Flower reader, then you’re already aware that cannabis users have been shown to be slimmer, on average, than non-users. That’s because cannabis helps the body regulate insulin production, and manage caloric intake more efficiently.

2. It Can Regulate and Prevent Diabetes

Because cannabis helps regulate body weight, it only makes sense that it would help prevent and regulate Diabetes. Again, you can thank the herb’s ability to regulate insulin production for this medical breakthrough.

3. It Fights Cancer

This is the big one that everybody’s been talking about. Both scientists and the federal government have released a good amount of evidence showing that cannabinoids fight certain types of cancer. It doesn’t get much more substantial than that.

4. It Can Help Depression

Depression is one of the more widespread, yet least talked about medical conditions in America. And research is showing that cannabis can help treat it.

Research is important, but so are the voices and smiles of those whom cannabis actually helps!

“Using compounds derived from cannabis — marijuana — to restore normal endocannabinoid function could potentially help stabilize moods and ease depression,” said Samir Haj-Dahmane, who is spearheading the research at Buffalo University – research that is only just now beginning to ramp up.

5. It’s Showing Promise in Treating Autism

Like many other high-profile disorders, autism may be a prime target for cannabis-based treatments. Science is digging into it, but in the meantime, some parents are using it to help manage violent mood swings in autistic children.

6. It Provides a Safer Alternative to Drugs and Alcohol

Cannabis can be harmful if you use it irresponsibly, but it’s nowhere near as destructive as alcohol for example. With wider availability, cannabis can and will become a substance of choice – and likely save a lot of lives (and livers) in the process.

7. It Helps Regulate Seizures

Using medical cannabis to regulate seizures is another one of the more high-profile findings coming out of medical science. For folks with disorders like Epilepsy, cannabis is showing immense promise.

8. It Can Help Broken Bones Heal Faster

Can you believe that cannabis can actually mend broken bones? It’s true, as CBD evidently reacts chemically with collagen, spurring along the healing process. Another very exciting find.

9. It’s a Treatment for ADHD

For those with serious trouble concentrating, or who have children suffering from ADD or ADHD, cannabis might be the treatment you’ve been waiting for. It’s safer and more effective than medications like Ritalin or Adderall.

10. It Can Help Treat Serious Addictions

We already mentioned that cannabis can be a viable, safer alternative to substances like alcohol and tobacco, but did you know that it can also be used as a treatment for addictions to these substances, and more? Individuals addicted to serious drugs like heroin, opiates, and cocaine, are showing promise in ridding themselves of their addictions through cannabis therapy.

Of course, it’s entirely possible to develop a dependency to marijuana, also – so responsible and mindful use is key.

11. It Treats Glaucoma

One of the first big medical issue that cannabis was shown to effectively treat is Glaucoma. Ingesting cannabis helps lower the pressure in the eyeball, giving patients at least temporary relief.

12. It Can Improve Lung Health

You probably never saw this one coming – especially since pot is commonly associated with smoking, and smoking with chronic lung problems. But some conditions, including lung cancer and Emphysema, have been shown to regress when cannabis is thrown into the mix.

13. It Helps Anxiety

Fact: cannabis can actually cause anxiety but there are ways to potentially avoid that. And it’s also true that for many people, cannabis can help alleviate anxiety disorders.

14. It Can Slow the Development of Alzheimer’s Disease

Cognitive degeneration is pretty much unavoidable as we age, and Alzheimer’s disease falls under that umbrella. The good news is that studies are showing cannabis can stop the progression of Alzheimer’s, which may lead to longer, richer lives for millions.

15. It Helps M.S. Patients

Cannabis helps alleviate many of the symptoms associated with Multiple Sclerosis, most notably the tremors, spasms, and pain.

Everyone deserves to know the benefits of cannabis...

16. It Can Control Muscle Spasms

We’ve mentioned M.S. and seizures, but general muscle spasms are an ailment that affect millions. Cannabis can help calm those muscles, stop them from twitching, and deal with the pain associated with spasms.

17. It Helps Individuals with Eating Disorders

A common use for medical cannabis is to help regulate eating patterns. Whether you eat too much, or too little, cannabis can help. This is especially helpful for people suffering from disorders like Bulimia and Anorexia.

18. It Treats Arthritis

Another common ailment that cannabis is used to treat is arthritis. The THC and CBD – as well as other cannabinoids – help sufferers deal with the pain, especially when using quality cannabis creams and balms.

19. It’s Helpful for Those with PTSD

With so many veterans in need of effective treatments for PTSD after the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the discovery that cannabis is a viable option is fantastic news. Now, the trick is to get the VA and doctors to actually prescribe it.

PTSD can affect just about anybody. We have to support these people and give them whatever they need to heal.

And of course not all PTSD is combat-related. All sorts of traumatic experiences can put that fight-or-flight response into overdrive, and cannabis is the only medication to address that.

20. It Can Help Regulate Your Metabolism

We touched on how cannabis helps your body process and deal with food, and obesity. This plays into how it also helps maintain and regulate your metabolism. That not only means sticking to an ideal weight level but generally being healthier and happier!

21. It Can Help People with AIDS/HIV

Cannabis can’t directly cure the AIDS virus, but it can and does help those living with it cope. Specifically, cannabis helps those living with AIDS/HIV maintain their diets and handle associated pains and aches.

22. It’s Effective for Treating Nausea

Next up on our list of marijuana facts: nausea. This is a relatively common feeling, and one that is brought on by any number of things. Some people live with constant bouts on a daily basis, and as you can imagine, it can be debilitating. How does cannabis come into the picture? Chemical compounds in cannabis react with brain receptors to regulate feelings of nausea. This is a particular boon for

chemotherapy patients (see #27).

23. It’s an Alternative Treatment for Headaches

Lots of people experience headaches every day, and taking the typical medicines – be it acetaminophen (Tylenol) or ibuprofen (Advil) – can take its toll on your body, leading to ulcers, liver damage, and other complications. Cannabis offers a natural alternative, and one that won’t chew threw your stomach lining.

You know you could potentially treat that headache with a non-psychoactive cannabis product?

24. It Can Treat Certain STDs

It’s true – cannabis has been found to be at least somewhat effective in the treatment of a handful of sexually transmitted diseases, including herpes and chlamydia.

25. It Will Help with Speech Problems

If you, or someone you know, has an issue with stuttering, cannabis can help. Research is by and large still lacking, but in the same way that cannabis helps calm spasms and twitches, those with speech problems can potentially benefit from its effects.

26. It Can Improve Skin Conditions

Who would’ve thought that cannabis could be a viable treatment option for skin conditions like eczema? The only issue? Smoking won’t do much good, as smoking actually harms your skin. A quality cannabis topical, on the other hand, can do wonders.

27. It Can Help You Get Through Chemotherapy

This is another extremely popular use for medical cannabis. Those suffering from cancers and its treatments – like chemotherapy – have found comfort in cannabis’s soothing effects.

28. It Regulates Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

Those living with OCD can also use cannabis as a treatment option. CBD, which effectively regulates anxiety to some extent, is the main active ingredient which helps those with OCD get a handle on the disorder – and live more functional lives.

29. It Will Calm Asthma Attacks

You probably never saw this one coming. Cannabis and asthma? They’re apparently compatible, or so says science. Again, it has to do with cannabinoid receptors which help control coughing fits as well as the herb’s ability to act as a bronchodilator. Smoking is obviously not the best method of delivery here, as that will likely only make things worse.

30. It Can Replace Viagra for Some Men

How about a natural cure for erectile dysfunction? This is another one of the many benefits of marijuana. No more hiding that Viagra in the back of the medicine cabinet, merely stick to cannabis. The research is ongoing, but there is evidence that cannabis can help men overcome this frustrating issue.

31. It Can Lower Your Blood Pressure

Smoking and low blood pressure are rarely synonymous. Thankfully there are several other ways to ingest cannabis, which can help with hypertension and other blood pressure issues. Although if you have serious heart issues, caution is advised because we still have a lot to learn about cannabis and the heart.

32. It’ll Calm Your Panic Attacks

As mentioned, calming anxiety is one of cannabis’s more sought-after effects. As a result, it can help people control panic attacks. Of course, it’ll depend on several physical factors, and what specific strains you use.

The Economic Benefits of Cannabis

33. It Can Be Used as a Food Source

Despite the fact that cannabis is hard to find at your local grocery store, throughout history, it’s been a dietary staple for many civilizations. Hemp has often been cultivated as a source of protein, and even today is used to create protein powders, or seeds can be purchased for consumption. On a large production scale, hemp can feed a lot of hungry people if prohibitive laws are overturned.

34. It Makes for an Attractive Investment

Want to make green, from green? Lots of venture capitalists are starting to see the explosive potential in the cannabis industry, and as a result, are dumping money into cannabis-based startups and businesses. Cannabis capital summits are even popping up, attracting investors and entrepreneurs.

Cannabis investor conferences are providing all sorts of opportunities for people to get involved in legitimizing this plant!

35. It Can Help Fight Climate Change

If we are able to get large-scale cannabis farms into production, it could help curb emissions, and fight climate change. This would happen through a number of ways, from providing more carbon-absorbing plants across vast farmlands, to trading off emission-producing animal farms for greener, cleaner cannabis grows.

36. It Creates Jobs

The creation of literally tens of thousands of jobs in the wake of legalization in places like Colorado and Washington is hard to ignore. And in an economy that has been in slow-recovery mode since 2009, looking at any opportunity to add more jobs can’t be overlooked.

37. It Generates Revenue for Schools and Public Health Programs

Instead of having money funnel into the hands of low-level street dealers, or even cartels on the other side of the border, legal marijuana markets are putting money to work in local communities through tax revenue. Marijuana is now supplying millions to schools and public health programs, among other things.

38. Legalizing Cannabis is Getting People Out of Jail

A big point of contention in the U.S. recently has been the large rate of incarceration, and the amount of money flowing to the prison industrial complex. Legalization is clearing out prisons, and freeing up time and resources for law enforcement.

39. It’s Creating New Industries

We mentioned that cannabis is creating a lot of jobs, and that’s because it’s creating new industries which house them. Cultivation, processing, sales outlets – there are numerous facets to the cannabis industry, and as legalization spreads, it’ll continue to grow.

40. It Lowers Crime Rates

Yes, making a previously illegal product legal lowers the crime rate – but it goes deeper than that. Numbers show that states in post-legalization status are seeing drops in crime, and perhaps most importantly, violent crime.

In places where cannabis is now legal, we’re seeing a lot less of this.

41. It Leads to Safer Roads

Traffic deaths have gone down in Colorado after legalization, which is fantastic news. This could be due to the substitution effect, people choosing pot over alcohol.

42. It Makes Law Enforcement Cheaper and Easier

In legalized states, police no longer need to spend time chasing marijuana offenders, which also clears up the courtrooms for more serious cases. This makes things easier for everybody, and cheaper for the tax payers.

How Cannabis Can Improve Your Daily Life

43. It Can Keep Your Pets Healthy

Cannabis, in some forms, can make for a healthy supplement for your pets. And for animals that are sick, or living with chronic pain, cannabis-based treats can offer some relief.

When pets start to get old, CBD products can help those aches and pains. They can also help with anxiety in pets.

44. It Can Help You Have More Pleasant Dreams

Plagued by bad dreams? Try cannabis before you hit the sack, and see if it makes a difference. For some people, it’s doing the trick. For others, particularly those with PTSD, it can also eliminate dreams completely. The reason, it turns out, is that cannabis impacts REM sleep – the part of the cycle during which you dream.

45. It Can Bring Your Energy Levels up

A lot of people are tired. But a small subset of individuals suffer from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome – a disorder that is effectively treated with certain cannabis compounds and strains. Just make sure you’re picking the right ones if you want to avoid fatigue.

46. It’ll Help You Sleep

On the flip side, you can use cannabis to help you get to sleep. Again, though, it’ll depend on what specific strains you’re using, and your physical and psychological makeup. You may have to experiment a bit to get the desired effect.

47. It Can Help You Get Through the Work Day

No matter what kind of job you have, cannabis can probably give you a boost in some way – be it mentally or physically. If you do decide to experiment with cannabis at work, be careful not to let things get out of hand. Be mindful of what works and what doesn’t.

And if you’re operating machinery, or driving? Abstain. Better to get high AFTER work.

48. It Can Make You More Productive

If you can get your cannabis regimen just right, productivity could increase significantly. For a lot of people that may be due to the medical benefits gained from cannabis, or the inspiration, or simply because they’re happier. On the other hand, productivity can also take a complete nosedive if you’re not careful.

If you are going to combine cannabis and work, make sure you know what you’re doing. Too much of a good thing could kill your productivity completely!

49. It Could Make You More Creative

Surprise, surprise – cannabis can help you be more creative. There’s still some debate as to how or why this happens, but cannabis does inspire lateral and divergent thinking, an important mindset for innovation and progress.

50. It Can Protect Your Brain

Cannabis as a brain protector? It’s true. Scientists are finding that chemical compounds found in cannabis actually help protect our brains.

About 40 of those 50 points can be attributed to someone who smokes cannabis and is off there head.

you dont need to smoke cannabis. All you need is the THC turned into a pill but without the affects of getting high...

Strangely enough tho is people who smoke illegally dont want this!!!!

Its just a ploy for druggies to get off there t##ts legally.

I'm all for research and there I compelling evidence that THC has a lot of medical uses.

So put it in a pill form.
