Default Ending my mobile contract (o2/CPWH)

    Hi,

I took out a 12 month contract with 02 / carphoneicon Warehouse last year. I fell behind on payments which resulted in a tottaled amount of arrears going to a debt collectionicon agency which wasfair enough i guess, i piad that billand thought my contract would just finish.

However i found out that a new addidtion to these contracts is that unless you get a disconnection number (by phoning up and queing for ages) and send it in letter form with 30 days notice, they will continue to add ontly charges to this bill - not great but i guess make a bit of sense and shows a way out of the contract.

However my phone (since paying full areears) has never been reconnected for outgoing calls though i am being charged for ongoing contract. I phoned about 3 times now and sent several emails asking whats going on withmy account if i can be re-connected or if i can have my disconnection number but i am just ignored, alsways told i will called or mailed a response

This has now taken my contract 2 months further down the line incurring two months line rental (soon to be 3 as your need to give 1 onths notice) and i havn't been able to use my phne still.

How should i go about getting this resolved ? i have writtento them by email stating they should take it as disconnection notice due to the above and that i will object to any further charges before contact is made.

Can anyone offere any advice or a decent contact at CPWH who may actually help me out ?

    Cheers

Irrespective of getting a 'disconnection number', you complete your minimum period, and give notice of termination (usually month 11, so that the contract ends on its anniversary). You will be liable for line rental until this notice is received and the contract formally ended - and there is probably a clause that states if the service is suspended for non-payment the line rental remains payable (I gather you can still receive calls, not make them). So - if you want to end this, you have to give your notice of temrination, you could complain that you've had restricted service and would like some recompense, but of late there's not been much goodwill from networks in this regard.
