    Default Don't shoot me for asking an obvious question....

    .....but I have scoured the forums and cannot seem to find an answer to this. Each month, I have been charged an 'Account Charge' of £10.00

    Am I able to add this monthly figure to my claim, or can I just solely claim for unpaid S/Os and D/Ds?

    Sorry if you have all been asked this a thousand times, OR if it is written on the forum elsewhere.

    Thanks a mill,

    Sarah-Jane

    What tpye of account do you have? This sounds like the monthly fee for having a specific type of account. If so then no you can not claim this as it is for a service.

    Thanks for replying so quickly. I have a Gold Service account at Lloydsicon. I think you are probably right, it is just an account fee.

    I am right in believing that I cannot claim general overdrafticon interest as well?

    Thanks for your help.

    Now theres a question! Actually you can but it is complicated and depending how much it is it might not be worth it, you can also claim contractual interest which again is more complicated but it worth a lot more. Read these links and decide.

    fellow scouser

    i have claimed for these but on a classic account, where they are charged for providing an overdrafticon facility. i have claimed them for every month that i can show that this would not have been incurred except for charges ie the entire overdraft is less than the unlawful charges previously levied. i am writing my particulars of claim and have phrased it;

    The Claimant also claims charges marked “ACCOUNT CHARGE” which were debited, by The Defendant, in respect of monthly periods when an overdraft facility was provided. The Claimant does not wish to dispute their lawfulness. However, they are claimed where they have been incurred solely as a result of unlawful charges, previously debited by The Defendant. The Claimant contends that he might, otherwise, not have required such facility and consequently, the charges are not binding upon him.

    hope this makes sense.
