it is just money in the pockets for the former directors. I bet that Cabot borrowed the money on the markets for the takeover so they arent taking any risks either, just another bad debt to the bank when they fold. Who will collect that debt I wonder?

I noticed that since I started getting letters from Cabot.

Now, I have a serious query.

They allege that I owe 2 debts which were originally with HSBC. These alleged debts were taken out 15 yrs ago. If there are any such debts there have been no payments on either account since 2008, neither have I spoken or written to the alleged creditors since that time as far as I can recall. I have received annual statements from MARLIN during that time but have never responded.

I believe that these debts are now Statute Barred.

My query is this:

How do I claim a debt is statute barred without acknowledging the debt and thereby restarting the clock?
