Hi everyone,

This is my first post here, and I wondered if anyone could help.

I have been in a DMP for about 4 years, after making a total mess of my finances with Payday Loans.

I was reviewing the remaining creditor amounts this morning, and

I wondered if I am being stupid by paying all the interest and charges that the Payday loan companies levied on my initial loan amount when I defaulted.

It may be that I should suck it up – it was a mess of my own making after all.

But I thought I would check what people with more knowledge than me thought.

The payday loan charges make up a third of my remaining amount, so it would be good to know what people think.

Thank you for any help.

Kate

I would reclaim all the charges they have levied on your account as it is quite clear that you are in financial hardship,

they know this otherwise you wouldn't be in a DMP.....

Who ever heard of someone getting a job at the Jobcentre? The unemployed are sent there as penance for their sins, not to help them find work!

Payplan rarely contest the charges too. Keep paying the original loan amount and contracted interest, but reclaim those charges. get the FCA and FOS involved if you have to.

Which PDL was it?

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

No. You pay what you actually owe, and tell them to jump in front of a moving vehicle unless they can justify the charges. The FCA are coming down hard on PDL's now, but there are still some PDL's that think the rules dont apply to them.
