Hello. Help!

I started attending counselling 7 weeks ago.

There is an always empty car park in the church next door so I started parking there at £1 per hour as my sessions are 50 mins.

Today (29/3) I received a Parking Charge Notice from Premier Park from the end of February.

I paid for an hour.

The notice says I entered at 08.48 and exited at 09.54.

I received a notice for £ 100 /£ 60 if paid within 14 days.

I was shocked as all this time I thought I was just parking, getting my ticket, all within good time. I have parked for years and never had this issue.

I understood, or thought I understood there would at least some sort of grace period (10 minutes is now allowed in Southampton) while you got your ticket, etc.

My bigger concern however at this point is that I have now been doing this for many weeks so am worried that I will now get many other similar tickets.

Had I realised or received ticket notification earlier about this issue and awareness of absolutely no grace period (or from reading on-line a charge for even entering!)

I would definitely not have entered or chose another parking area.

I have no idea what to do at this stage of my nightmare! Any advice?

Best wishes, J

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

It's only a nightmare if you make it one. Why did you overstay on this particular day ?

It really is a joke that someone can get enjoyment form another staying 6 minutes over the paid for time.

The people who issue these tickets must be sick, it surely is they who need the counselling not you.

As it takes time to enter car park, find space, park up. get out and find ticket machine.pay, return to car with ticket etc then on leaving you have to drive round to exit. That means that the car was PARKED for less than the hour paid for and they have to prove otherwise.

Only ever contact them in writing.

They had 14 days to send you a demand and they didnt so no keeper liability. Ignore them as they are too late to claim from you.
