Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Sorry if this information is somewhere in the thread but i can't find it!
I had a Bank of Scotland visa which was taken over by MBNA last year, and before that BoS merged with Halifax, so i am a bit unclear as to where to send my dpa request!
I have an old CC statement from july 2005 which gives this address:
Card services
Pitreavie business park
Dunfermline
KY99 4BS
I have no idea if this place is even still open, so has anyone got an address they used to send their BoS letters to with regards to credit cards?
Yes this is still the address.
Take it its a football credit card? My mate had the same deal and they automatically changed it to MBNA
Does this mean you can take the football club to the county court lol!
(Yes I work for a bank but am here to help! Please be nice to me! )
Actually no it isn't a football card, it was James Bond one I got about 9 years ago! Luckily (or not) they changed it to an MBNA platinum, i was getting a bit embarrassed using a JB card as i'm coming up to 30!
MBNA will be after BOS, as i'm sure they owe me a couple of hundred as well. Then it's goodbye credit cards for good, as I can't trust myself with them.
DPA request finally sent via recorded delivery today. 40 days up on 14th June. (hopefully will be sorted before then, as i'm going to the world cup for nearly 3 weeks and it's going to interfere with all my claims!)
DPA letter was shown on the RM tracking system as delivered on the 6th may, I haven't heard a thing from BOS yet though. Has anybody else had acknowledgement of the DPA request or do the statements just turn up?
They only have 10 days left to comply, and i'm going away for 2 weeks on friday! I could really do with them before then.

Has anyone else used the Rosyth Business park address with any success, as I haven't received anything back at all from my Prelim?

Posted the lba today then got home to find they have offered me £215, half of the original claim. Seeing as my claim has now been amended to include interest it's £285 short, so thanks but no thanks.

I really needed to get my garden finished, so I sent a letter about 3 weeks ago stating I would settle for £350. They replied saying yes, and that the money will be refunded to my account. Well as the account was taken over by MBNA I didn't think they could do that, so when it didn't appear in the account I gave them a ring, they said they could do it and it would be in the account within a week.
A week came and went, no refund so I rung again, they looked into it and rung me back the day after, apologising and saying it was definitely sorted and it would be in the account within 2 days, 3 at the most.
This was last wednesday, and still no refund - i'm going to wait until the end of the week and if it isn't in i'm going to start a moneyclaim for the full amount.
I assume it is ok to do this even though we came to an agreement, as they haven't kept to their side and made the refund. I'm not ringing them again, they have had plenty of chances to return the money.

It appears i've won, £700 went into my MBNA account yesterday. Strange though that it was 2 seperate payments of £300 and 2 of £50, and I had been promised twice that the £350 I originally settled for had been transferred.
Also strange that in 3 weeks they couldn't manage to put £350 in my account despite twice promising to, yet 2 days after I file a claim they manage to put £700 in
I'll wait until I receive a letter from them before I cancel the court claim.

Well I spoke too early, £350 was taken back out of the account just after it went in. I have however received an offer for the rest today, so it looks like i've won. Letter of acceptance going off today, will update when I receive the money.
