Hi ,

Can anyone tell me if this is right,

I hired a car 2 weeks ago & its due back tomorrow.

I rang them today to extend the hire time and

was told id have to pay another 100 deposit and i would not get the 200 deposit i have already paid ,

they have already had fee £345 rental charge plus £200 deposit,

now they are asking £304,

another £100 deposit & 204 rental and when car goes back,

I only get £100 pound back,

where is my £200 deposit.

Please someone tell me if this is right or am i getting ripped off?.

deposits are taken incase you return the car with damage.

if there no damage

then your deposits should be returned in full.

many lease/hire companies pull the stroke of trying claiming damage was done by you

but can always be countered by asking for the photos as proof.

before and yours taken after

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Deposits are taken to cover the estimated cost of the rental plus any damage excess, the idea is that they'll have their charges covered if you returned the car damaged, excessively dirty and with an empty tank of fuel.

You also want to check what rate you are getting charged. The initial two weeks may have been at a special two week rate, now that you wish to exceed that time the whole hire may get charged at a different weekly rate.
