Default I'm a student and soooooo hacked off with cahoot!!

    Hi,

I'm a student and currently I'm over my overdrafticon limit at cahoot. Their charges made me overdrawn significantly. I went overdrawn one month by £15 and I've been charged a fee EVERY month for the past 9 months. I paid in enough money to cover the amount I was overdrawn and the first charge but not enough for the 2nd mystery charge and since then I've been overdrawn with charges.

It's just a regular current account.... Can I claim any of these charges back at all? I have nothing to lose really as they've managed to take most of my money anyway!

Any help you can give would be greatfully accepted

    Em
    xx

    Hi Em,

if they are penalty charges then the good newsicon is that you can claim them ALL back. But first you need to have a goood read round the site. It really does take a few days to get your head around all the arguments and all the information.

You will be setting a timetable (the timetable that the bank says it will work to is irrelevant). In the FAQ you will find 'first steps.' Start this, be clear on what your first step is (requesting the info from the bank so that you can calculate what they owe you)

Whilst waiting for the info, read up on your next step. If you make sure you stick to your own thread in the relevant area (eg [username] claim against [bank]), and use this as a sort of diary which you can update as things progress. It will also enable you to check responses to your questions, and people will be able to find your thread a lot easier.

    Good luck.

You are here, you want your money back, you will get help and support in this, but it is YOUR call, and you must be prepared to put in the effort.
