Hey

I'm not sure if this is in the right sub-forum, I currently have poor credit rating as i rarely have any direct debits/contracts etc to come out of any account of mine, i also got myself into a bit of trouble with pay day loans when i was a bit younger and more gullible. I recently had a letter come through the post from Vanquis offering me a credit card with 39.9% APR.

I've been considering getting a credit card recently and as the chances of the bank issuing me one is low, I wonder if this would be a viable option? Can a credit card help me rebuild my credit rating if i make all payments on time? I've also heard of this Aqua Card with the same APR.

Or is this too risky?

Thanks in advance of any response.

Stay away from any subprime lender. Especially ones that are 16% + interest. Even sharkleys basic card is now around 35%.

Yours is 39.9%. Stay away as far as you can from that.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

If theres any defaults etc on your file, then it wont matter what you do until the markers are removed. Then when they are, you can start rebuilding it then using tried and trusted methods, building up a stable and non desperate rating slowly.

  • 2 years later...

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...
