Hi everyone,

Unfortunately, my friend and I are in exactly same situation as everyone else.

We registered for their 3 days course which we wanted to cancel after.

I did the same thing as you did -

opened "the book", which turned out to be a notebook instead.

We were told that we were given a book to read not a notebook to write notes in it.

we called Tigrent to cancel our agreement.

They told us that if we had opened the book we have to pay £250 for their study kit.

I think it's wrong as we were misled in the first place.

I've read a few reviews from previous years.

There was a girl @kylie22 who wanted to write a complaint to BBC program Don't Get Done Get Dom.

I think it's a great way to raise awareness by going public.

They need a serious consumer complaint to make a program.

If everyone writes a complaint to them, I believe something could be done to stop them from robbing people.

Has actually any one got their money back?

We've just actually received a reply from them referring to that book as just an insert for a folder, however, this is not what we were told. So they've said they won't refund £250 for their study kit. I've also submitted a complaint to citizens advice bureau. Waiting to see what they come back with.

yes, go to the bank and request a chargeback.

The bank will waver a bit on this but expalin that it was a deception

and a complaint has been made they might hurry things up.

The point is to not accept that the bank cant help,

the banking code says they must at least investigate,

which means contacting the dodgy company.

It may be necessary to fill in a short form that is self-explanatory.

We've finally received an email from Tigrent with attached letter which I'm supposed to sign and return back to them. In their letter it says: "As you have not returned the supplied material in as substantially as good order as when received, your refund will be made minus a charge of £250.00 for the Home Study Materials as well as a 5% administration charge." Now, we haven't returned their study kit because we haven't had their confirmation of cancellation yet. we can return it right away. In their letter it says "in as substantially as good order as when received". It doesn't say "unopened". From my perspective they should refund £250 to us if we return study material in the same good order even if some part of that kit has been opened. can I claim this £250 against their wording in their letter?

  • 2 weeks later...

Yes chargeback, they cant do anything about it so I wouldnt worry about any repercussions.

Its a shame as the company Tigrent takes the blame for rich dad, thats how rich dad maintains a squeaky clean image.

I went to one of the free seminars and I can see how easy it is to get sucked in.

I hear that some of the seminars higher up cos £20k. Wouldnt it make more sense to any investor to take £20k and put that as a deposit on a property.

No Love for Rich Dad!
