My dog recently developed glaucoma. cataracts, uveitis and a slipped lens. LV will not pay for her glaucoma drops as she had sore eyes back in 2010 for which she was prescribed an anti inflammatory. Apparently it is linked, even though she has had no eye treatment since. Does this mean that if she had stubbed her toe when she was a puppy and her leg falls off they wont pay for that either!!!!!!!!!

I'd speak to the vet and get their opinion as to whether this is connected to the previous problem.

Presumably the insurance co say it's pre-existing from before you took out the policy?

Yep, I'm waiting for the vet to tell me what he said but as the eye specialist has only the previous two years history I don't see how he could say it was linked to the vet before my current vet (3 vets ago as I have moved since). I spoke to the previous vets who reminded me that MY dogs eyes were weeping and they gave me maxitrol in 2010. No treatment since then until two moths ago when my dog started to bump into things. Took her to my vet who referred her to eye specialist who is giving her glaucoma drops only at £70 plus and maxitrol for uveitis.

Some dog breeds seem to suffer from eye problem more than others. I have heard of numerous owners of Shih tzus starting to have these type of issues from as young as 8 years old.

If your dog has had any eye problems for which it was necessary to see a Vet, then I cannot see LV paying out, if you did not disclose this in your application.

We could do with some help from you.
