Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Hi Everyone
Until I read about you in the Daily Mail ( I found it honest ) I did not know off your existence and did not know that I could indeed do anything about the charges levied on me by the bank.
most off the charges the bank put on my account have been done in the last 4-5 months which by my estimate came to over £2300, but this did not include the charges before that, so the total sum I have no idea at.
Finding this site has giving me a breath of fresh air which I have needed for a long time. and I thank you from the bottom off my heart now for having that information in the newspaper, which allowed me to find you.
I have now read the sections I needed to and have now written out my request for Data Protection Act 1998 Subject access request
Hi Andrew and welcome
sounds like you have your steps all under control.
have a good read of the site its fascinating the info it holds as it doesn't stop on Bank charges.
Pop in the Bear Garden for some fun when you want time out form Bank chasing.
My first post and I feel as if I'm on my first date. Didn't know where to come in and join and say hi to everyone as I thought I might be punished for interrupting a thread. I've done exactly what was recommended and read as much info as possible and tried to absorb what I could. There's so much to learn. I have to say a big thank you to everyone. The advice and help has been invaluable. My first task will be a Clydesdale business account and I won't start anything until I have done my homework. Working out the calculated interest is something I'm not looking forward to (find this bit particularly daunting) but I'll get there somehow, hopefully without asking too many stupid questions! Tried to access Vampiresses spreadsheets but even though I've registered with Google, I was turned away. I'll try and work it out tomorrow. Once again, thanks for your time and guidance and I'll come back soon. And good luck to everyone.
Hi Marie,
Best thing to do is start your own thread, you will get plenty of support. I found the initial process of negotiating the site more daunting than getting my money back from the bank. Business accounts are only slightly different. (I'm in the process of reclaiming on a business A/C too)
Read (& print) the FAQs & step by step guide. Send in you first letter, the SAR. It is just a request for information & by the time they get back to you in 40 (or 39 in my case..) days, having read up you will be itching to get your money back.
