Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Sent SAR letter only approx a week ago and in todays post ive received statements back to may 2004 with (yes you've guessed it!!) details of the microfiche issue they have.
Anyway i have £600 worth of unlawful charges going back to 2004 which im pretty shocked about. Tomorrow I will be posting a letter to the efect that I still demand the remaining statements within the 40 day timeline or i will be complaining to the Ombudsman.
If that still gets me no where can i estimate my costs based on the info they have so far provided me with?? Thats what i intend to do anyway.
Yes you can estimate the claim, you just need to use some kind of logic to come up with the figures.
Should you end up in court you only need to be able to show you have tried to get the statements and they have refused.

just thought id update you good people of my progress against barclaycard to date.
after looking thro my statements back to 2001 and finding approx £1050 in unlawful charges iv written 2 of the standard letters found on this site to barclaycard outlining the issue. In this mornings post I have received an offer from barclaycard offering to repay me the difference between the £20 charge and the £12 charge recomended by the OFT.
All of this has been pretty easy so far and of course i will be accepting the (partial) refund and shortly advising them that i will be happy to see them in small claims court for the remander of the money they owe me.
