    Default Speeding up the SAR

When you send in your SARicon to Citi you will probably be sent a four-page questionnaire to complete to verify your identity.. This is clearly a delaying/off-putting tactic by Citi and slows down the process, especially if they take two weeks to send it to you!

You can try and circumvent this by providing the information with your SARicon.
    Citi require the following:-

    One of
    proof of name
    full driving licence
    passport
    Birth certificate
    marriageicon cert

    and one of
    proof of address

    full drivers licence
    utility bill
    bank or credit card statement
    benefit or pension book
    other equivalent/similar document

I added this paragraph to the end of my SAR:-

I understand that you require proof of identity and residence, so I am enclosing a copy of my birth certificate* and a copy of a recent utility bill*.
    (*or whatever suits you)

Citi accepted these proofs and my data arrived within the 40 days..

If it doesn’t work, then remind them when you return the questionnaire that the clock started ticking when they received your SAR .

I received one of said forms in the post. I filled it in but have not got around to posting it. My initial contact was 4th October and today (28 days?) I received my statements via special delivery - you would think you either had to provide identification or not!

However, your method is a better idea of course, as the form does not ask for any more information than is put in the preliminary letter.

I think getting out the info with or without form is one of the things that citi is really good at. Brian must like group litigation!

When i rang Citis Customer Advocate Office regarding my SARS they told me that if i wanted my charge info they would send it straight away, its just that it takes time to get the manual intervention data and other details ie phone callsicon etc together, i got my charge and statement info 3 days after the cal and the rest of the info within 35 days of my original request.
I found their customer advocate office dealing with SARS requests the more efficient and helpful side of Citi (i think really the guy in charge of it is just a nice guy and does his job well!)
