Default This was Quick But Help Required Please

Having waited 39 working days for my statements I proceeded to complete the spreadsheets and send with my claim to Alliance and Leicester for just over £1,000 in unfair charges.
Marked on the calender that 14 working days would be up on November 14th I was really surprised to receive a letter first class from them today.
Obviously a standard letter saying they cannot accept that I have been unfairly charged and on this occasion are unable to agree to refund the money.

    Now What
Do I now fill in the Small Claims forms in the pack Ihave sitting on the side?
I know elsewhere it says to read through everything but there is so much and I am not 100% sure what is applicable so any guidance would be gratefully appreciated

At the risk of being unpopular you really do have to take the time to read the FAQ's, some of the longer threads about similar claims so that you can see what others have done, look at the template letters, etc. You need to allow 2 - 3 days to read up the relevant sections thoroughly. You MUST be familiar with the process, what is involved AND what you MIGHT be letting yourself in for should the case go to court.

You will find that there is lots of help available here but CAGicon is basically a self-help forum; you need to learn what to do for yourself and then ask about the things that are less clear to you. I'm afraid you can't expect a script to give every step of the process.

    Hi, joandsteve, welcome.

I really would recommend that you spend a little time reading some of the threads on the forum - not only do they make for some fascinating reading, they can be very informative.

What you are about to undertake is very serious; you are about to take the A&L to court, be under no illusions about this.

Reading some of the older threads, (even if you just go to some of the ones that have already "won"), you will see what you can expect as your claim progresses, what A&L will try to throw at you in response each step of the way. If you are prepared for this it may ease your fears somewhat.

We are all in the same boat here, all victims of unlawful bank charges, and while we can offer support, advice and encouragement we cannot make the claim for you. That is where your own preparation is invaluable. A few hours spent trawling the site will save you hours of heart-ache, believe me!

    Keep us posted. Good luck.
