Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Following the trawl through my statements, issuing the prelim and then the lba and getting the standard "thanks for your letter, but no thanks" response I filed my MCOL on the 13th October.
I received an acknowledgement of service on the 19th October but since then, no further communication.
Do I just sit and wait? Is their anyone else on similar timescales?
In a similar position but in Scotland. Ours was served on them 12th October still waiting patiently. From looking at concluded cases it looks like they take around 3 weeks which hopefully won't mean waiting too long for either of us.
I have 2 current accounts with alliance and leicester. The one that I'm currently claiming unfair charges against and another joint account with my partner.
Will alliance and leicester try to close both accounts after I've won from them? or can they not do this as its in dual names and my partner isn't taking action against them (yet!!)
I have a parachute account set up elsewhere should they do this but would appreciate any feedback
Returned home tonight to find a letter and cheque from Alliance and Leicester confirming that although they don't agree with the claim etc they are paying out
I look forward to them contacting me regarding the future of the account as I have stopped using it anyway
