Hello,

a friend of mine ordered online 2 'free samples' of cream and

all she had to pay for was post and packing.

She has now discovered today that the company have deducted £190 from her account

and is at a loss as to what to do.

Her bank refuse to re call the transaction and cancel her debit card,

and the company in question is based in America.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated...

Ah, is this one of those where you need to cancel your subscription a few days after ordering to ensure you dont get stung for these costs ?

I would have thought that if this was an unauthorised transaction that the bank are obliged to refund the money. I will try and find someone who might be able to help.

Hi Ibeth

Well, you just need to Google the company name, it's happened to loads of consumers. When ever you buy anything on the internet, always Google the company name with the world 'Complaint' 99.9% of the time you can't go wrong, if you do that.

Can you provide further information like dates, also has she written to the company to request a refund?

The Company is based in Canada.

Write to your bank. Tell them that you are the victim of fraud that and that they are required under FCA rules to refund you immediately. Tell them that if they fail to do so, that you will begin a complaint to the FOS.

Your bank will ignore you - but you need to pay down a papertrail and you will need to make the formal complaint.

Which one of the banks was it?
