Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I have to say it's very rare that one can cheer the actions of parking attendants, but in this case I'd go so far as to send them flowers and a (small) iced cake with a cherry on the top.
The blue badge scheme is abused by able-bodied people far too much. I'd like to see much more enforcement action of the type described above, so that we can all be sure that the people nicking the best, free, parking spaces are the ones that really deserve them.
Sorry Lil, but you won't get much sympathy on this one. This forum is about dealing with instititutions when individuals have been unfairly and unlawfully treated. You have openly admitted that you used the blue badge in breach of the terms and conditions of the scheme. Your selfishness puts in jeopardy the use of the badge by your mother.
I hope you learn from this one. Pay up and chalk it down to experience.
I was open and honest in my statement and perhaps naively expected an answer to the points I raised but obviously sarcasm is your forte. But hey...........I can chalk it down to experience!
There wasn't a hint of sarcasm in my response Lilias.
The fact is you abused the blue badge scheme by using it when you shouldn't have done and you were caught out. As for your earlier point about "picking holes in parking tickets" (which you have now edited out), the authorities have to get the markings right. That is the law for them. If they don't get it right then the restriction they impose has no legal standing and is unenforcable. That's a very big difference to taking your mums blue badge and using it, knowing full well it was wrong.
I admitted my mistake and you took it upon yourself to judge me, I dont believe that is what this forum is for. If it is, then my mistake, again. It must be wonderful to be perfect, not something I would know.
Perhaps I need yet more clarification as to why when given a parking ticket in what is probably 'good faith' do you then pick holes in it in order to find out it is unenforcable....surely the contravention of the parking is still there much like my 'mistake/error of judgement'?
Anyway no matter I will deal with my problem in my own way and once again thanks for your opinions and judgement.

It wasn't a mistake though, it was a deliberate attempt at deception by you.

For a parking restriction to be enforceable it must comply with the legislation. If it doesn't comply then it is not enforceable. That is so different to someone taking their mums blue badge and using it in full knowledge of what they are doing is effectively deception. Hopefully the realisation on the difference between the two will dawn on you in good time. This site and its members will happily offer advice and help to people who have a genuine grievance, but they will not be impressed by someone who:-
1) took their mums blue disabled parking badge
2) used it to park for free (I have repeated this as you have chosen to edit it from your original post).

Lil
You are welcome. I hope you will learn from this and won't jeopardise your mums disabled badge again.
You saw fit to delete your original message, which basically was a complaint against a Parking Attendant who had spotted you parking outside your 'Uni' using your mother's disabled blue badge. Your 'reason' for this was that the parking meter didn't allow you to pay for more than four hours, and you needed to be in 'Uni' for four and a half hours, so your solution was to use the disabled badge.
The PA radioed in and got their controller to telephone your mother, who confirmed she wasn't anywhere near the car.
So you got a ticket, and came here requesting hints and tips about how to evade it. Furthermore you said that this was at least the second time you had been caught, and that they had threatened to withdraw the blue badge from your mother. You thought you might have a case under Human Rights Act because they called your mother.
I hope you didn't think I was being sarcastic in my first post - I was very serious and meant every word. I imagine your mother has enough problems by being disabled, without having a daughter who repeatedly puts her mother's future vehicular mobility at risk through misuse of the blue badge.
I think there is a general cynicism among drivers that many people displaying blue badges often aren't really disabled at all, and your own behaviour simply adds to this perception. That's a shame.
Not castigating you - simply stating a viewpoint, and (for once) applauding a Parking Attendant's action. Which was the last thing I expected to do today. The horror, the horror......
