Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I have been reading up on taking on the banks for the last couple of weeks now. I only have my last 3 months statements to hand but i have been charged £175 in that time alone so goodness knows what i have had in the last 6 years!
Sent off the letter to my bank (Barclays) today to request my last 6 years worth of statements.
One thing i am slightly anxious about is that the account i will be making the claim on now sits roughly £2000 in the red. It may be possible that i make that much back in reclaimed bank charges, but if not, can they close the account and request that i pay back the remaining overdraft immediately?
Hoping to have lots of fun on here, read lots and lots of success stories so far and hope to be one of them in the near future!
Hi,
This is my first post here to a big hello to everyone. I was wondering the same thing as copey123 above, although my account can dip up to £1000 in the red. I could repay it with a cheque from a credit card but it is a worry.

They may do that, although recent Banking Code advice has warned against retaliatory action.
Set up a 'parachute' account with another bank. Then if they get shirty, get your pay put into that and don't use your barclays account. Write and say the account in in dispute and that it is the subject of a current litigation. There are templates for this.
Above all, DON'T GET SCARED. It is YOUR money, never forget that.
