Thumbs up Start the ball rolling with the A&L first

There really is a lot on this website took me three weeks to get to posting stage let alone requesting my bank statements lol!

Oh! I am such a hoarder - didn't realise how bad i am till i starting shifting throught the years worth of stuff i have. Since i've had kids nothing get's done I've got statement going back four years so only need to get the other two years from the bank I would have had the other two years if i hadn't moved.

Anyway i'll send away for the rest today and that will start the ball rolling - Bank of Scotlandicon next.

I wasn't too bothered about claiming my bank charges back from the A&L as i haven't had too many charges with them, but i checked my credit record during the week and they have put this against my credit rating and i'm livid.

So off to open a new account with a totally new bank.

    I will keep you posted.

Well done for taking the time to look into everything properly first. It wouldn't hurt just to do the SARicon to the Bank of Scotlandicon now, then start the claim against them when you are ready. At least you will have everything you need when you are ready.

Thanks Caro that is exactly what i will do request statements for both and work on one then the other.

I don't have much for the A&L i think it may only be about £200 do you think this is worth going to the lbaicon action stage and possibly going to small claims court???

Or do you think it would be best to leave it out?

Any advice is much appreciated ta

You will need to do the prelim stage first, then lbaicon and then court. Be in no doubt that you will have to go the small claims court, as they won't pay up until then. Do I think it's worth it? Well £200 is a lot to me, so hell yes.

Anyway it's good practice for when you move on to the next claim.

Hi Caro, Thanks again i just wasn't sure if court is the right way to go for £200 but since i've been reading posts on here i can see that you do need to court stage before getting any refund.

I'm a pretty good complainer at the best of times but can see myself going to a whole new level with this stuff lol!

I will let you know what happens.

I had to laugh at that. My 18 year old daughter walks away and leaves me to it when I get started in shops. I think I must be an embarassment to her.

LOL! Do you think it is an age thing then?

I used to be so motified when my father in law started in a shop. Now i'm just as bad as him.

Just had a thought i've got a 3 and 1 year old, they will be the exact same as your daughter is now.

    Hiya,

Decided to call and ask for the statements rather than sending the letter. I know i know daft bint, Well the A&L want to charge me £5 a statement, i need two years bringing the grand total to £120!!! The guy on the phone even had the cheek to ask what it was for - i told him tax reasons then he went and asked the manager and he said he would give me them for £80 i told them to beat it so i will be posting my request for statements tomorrow.

    What a cheek

Hi, Sharmore. It's always best to send any claim-related correspondence by registered or recorded delivery. They can't use non-receipt as a delaying tactic then.

    Good Luck.
