Wink Mum22boys is taking on Abbey - 17/08/06

I have just put my preliminary request for charges letter in the post (have sent it to Dawn Hoyle at Customer Satisfaction Centre - is this right). This is after weeks and weeks of asking for copies of my statements. Apparently they were on microfiche (does anyone still use them??) so I sent the template letter last week for this and lo and behold got the statements a couple of days later. I have calculated, using the spreadsheet, that they owe me £733 (including the interesticon) -which, surprisingly, is less than I thought it would be. I do have one question, however. I had an account with Abbeyicon in just my name (the letter I have written is for our joint account) and this was closed a couple of years ago (because shock horror I misused the account - funning thing is though they were making a fortune out of me). I have no record of the account number - do you think if I got in touch with them they might let me know what the number was/is? I'm sure under some data protection clause they won't! Thanks for reading!!

If it was withinn the last 6 yearsicon they should have records of your account so I would send a polite letter asking for details. Leave the SARicon until they have replied with the account number etc. or they might just get funny with you.

Thanks nnelson for your reply - will do what you said. I think I will leave it a couple of days so that it doesn't arrive at the same time as my other claim or they will be onto me!!

Mum22 - Abbeyicon acknowledged mine on the very last day possible - so I wouldn't worry yet - they are reknowned for taking it to the last minute. (I presume you meant 19th Sept and not August )

Question Abbey have offered 50% - what letter do I write to say thanks but no??

HI, I haven't posted on here before. I filed my Moneyclaim against Abbeyicon a few weeks ago and a couple of days ago received a letter from Abbey offering 50%. Obviously, I don't want to accept this - I would still like to go for the whole lot, but I don't want to jeapordise the whole amount. Can anyone advise me how I should word a 'thanks but no thanks' letter to them. I also received yesterday an aqicon form from the court so I need to complete this too. Any help would be very much appreciated.
