I have just put my preliminary request for charges letter in the post (have sent it to Dawn Hoyle at Customer Satisfaction Centre - is this right). This is after weeks and weeks of asking for copies of my statements. Apparently they were on microfiche (does anyone still use them??) so I sent the template letter last week for this and lo and behold got the statements a couple of days later. I have calculated, using the spreadsheet, that they owe me £733 (including the interest) -which, surprisingly, is less than I thought it would be. I do have one question, however. I had an account with Abbey
in just my name (the letter I have written is for our joint account) and this was closed a couple of years ago (because shock horror I misused the account - funning thing is though they were making a fortune out of me). I have no record of the account number - do you think if I got in touch with them they might let me know what the number was/is? I'm sure under some data protection clause they won't! Thanks for reading!!
