Default drove off while writing ticket

What happens hadrun in with traffic warden and he atrted I think to write me a ticket. I got i my car and drove off immediately. Do I still have a ticket coming after me
i though unless they gave it to you or slapped it on screen it hadn't been issued. He didn't even speak just jumped out from his hiding place( a bus shelter amongst teenagers) and started writing! With might I add the largest smile on his waxed slimey little head which really peeved me!

Just watch out for them trying the old ploy of claiming that it was handed to you or attached to the vehicle.

I think they usually photograph the ticket on your windshield to prove it was given, otherwise its just their word against yours.

    Well done again.

If it is a Traffic Warden, then the ticket is a Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) and may be later mailed to you. Like any other offence dealt with by the Police via an FPN.

If it was a Parking Attendant (ie decriminalised parking enforcement by the council) then the ticket must be affixed to the vehicle or handed to the driverunless physically prevented from doing so (ie threatened or restrained). Driving off does not count as physical prevention and the ticket has not been issued and so is void.
Leep a note of date/time/location - it is not beyond the bounds of possibilty that the PA will report the ticket as properly served and the council will come after you for the money. You would simply have to go through the treadmill of appeals to get the issue dealt with
