    Default bad behaviour

    Hello all,

I've just printed out my customised first letter...i really want to get the ball rolling but i do have a brief record of 'BAD BEHAVIOUR' which marks a period of a couple of months where i was spending without money....and HSBCicon just let me have it every time (probably with a big fat money-grabbing grin on their faces as they edit me of 30 pounds every time i withdrew money)

I'm worried this black mark on my record will hinder my efforts to claim back charges, the overdrawn status earned me a black mark, and even though this was all over a year ago and i pay them managed loan re-payments every month,I'm still not even allowed a card on my account-the most basic access to my money.

Do you think it's worth pursuing the claim or should i let sleeping dogs lie?? I really believe that thier charges were a ridiculous way of punishing an already-indebted customer and fully believe that i am owed that money back...but my records are bound to undermine my claim....HELP!! any advice!?

I have moved your thread from the successes forum as you are only just starting out. You should definitely make a claim as the charges are unlawful, whatever you may or may not have done. They are the ones who should be worried.

When the Liberals and Conservatives were in opposition they both agreed that banks should pay back high bank charges to customers. Nothing seems to of happened since they came into power as a coalition. PPI insurance has been sorted now they should turn their attention to bank charges and help customers get exorbitant charges refunded.

thing is if they hadnt charged you so mercillessly then you might not be in the position you are in now ( or as badly in it ) they have no right to take the money you have worked to earn, get it back. we will all help with advice where needed. at the end of the day if you need another bank acct ( and do you want to continue with this load of jokers?) close the acct yourself and change everythign over to a parachuteicon acct, that way there wont be a bad mark against you on your credit record for a " bank closed this account". it reads differently than " customer closed account"
