Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Referral charges are reclaimable, its the fee they charge you if they clear something when you have insufficient funds.
Read Natweststaffmembers 'Sticky' thread at the top of the forum. It has all the info on reclaimable charges.
good luck
Got home last night after watching super saints win 2-0, and there it was, on the door mat, the now famous brown, torn envelope. had a quick look, lots of charges. will keep you informed
due to work commitments just finnished counting, comes to £4465!!!! thats since jan 2002. over £1100 per year GUTTED, didnt realise they were taking so much
You could split it, or just go for the full amount. The outcome will be the same, though there is some differance in the allocation of costs, but you will get them all back (if) when you win.
well we can all do it. I MADE A MISTAKE. DOH!!!, i forgot to take off the advantage gold charges. the new total charged is £ 4166, they had also given me a refund of £80 in 2003,( nice of them) now i want a little bit more please
well thats it now, worked everthing out printed it all off ready to send tomorrow, checked my account online this morning ANOTHER £28 CHARGE, new total claiming is £4194, didnt bother adding the interest not sure how to use spreadsheets, but i will learn, at least this can stay on the small claims track.
will be sending prelim letter tomorrow morning recorded delivery.;-)
sent prelim 6th nov. recieved 7th, have recieved nothing yet, must be ignoring me, so gonna type l.b.a today to send on monday, no doubt that will be ignored as well, starting on cap1 next week
have a practice with the spreadsheet while you are waiting for responses on your letters..because you WILL need it at MCOL/court stage...to be able to add on the Section 69 interest at 8%.
The simple spreadsheet will do this for you with no difficulty.
As for not bothering with the other interest...it's entirely your call...I didn't because it was £37 on a £2500 claim...but I did work out the spreadsheet just so I felt more 'in control' of the whole situation.
On your claim the 8% interest will mount up to an awful lot
