    Default Frenchie v barclaycard

Hi everyone. We sent our lbaicon to Barclaycard claiming 380.00 plus 380.00 estimated charges for the statements which they refuse to send usual microfische dross. Yesterday we received a letter from them usual blah blah not unfair charges blah blah but they offered 152.00 as a goodwill gesture. Hubby wrote a letter declining offer but indicated he would accept the 152.00 as an interim payment then would continue his claim for the remaining sum, if necessary taking Barclaycard to court. Posted it this morning, but when I arrived home lunchtime there was a scruffy hand written envelope containing a cheque for 152.00 and a hand written compliment slip which reads " please find enclosed a cheque for the sum of 152.00 regards........." Can't quite suss this out, I thought Barclaysicon were supposed to be a sophisticated high tech company, there was no mention of full & final settlement, nothing to sign, it didn't even mention what the payment was in relation to! I'm amazed that they didn't send the cheque with the letter we received yesterday. Do we bank the cheque or hang onto it until we receive the rest? any ideas? Thanks folks

Pay the cheque into your bank account and thank them for the partial payment of the debt, but insist that you will be taking steps to recover the rest. Hope this helps.

OK Thanks will do, we've already sent the letter telling them that we'd only accept it as an interim payment, it must have crossed the cheque in the post, I'm interested to see what the next letter says! Cheers

Well back to Barclaycard then, Now that the Woolwich, Morgan Stanley & MBNAicon have settled I think its time I got back on track with the business in hand. Have sent another letter along with copies of all previous correspondence giving them one more chance to settle before we go through the whole farce of taking them to court. Have given them 14 days then it'll be back to MCOL so we can block up Southend court again only to have the charges refunded two weeks before the court date!! Watch this space
