My brother brought a Panasonic flat screen television from Comet in January 2012,

 

before the warranty was up he found there were problems and DK Audio who carry out work on behalf of Panasonic collected his TV to carry out the work below:

 

Replaced a Sn board

Replaced a power supply

Replaced a board

Replaced two fans

 

It took them a while to return the television and

in the end he had to ask them just to return his television after being told that there was nothing wrong with it.

 

When his TV was returned to him on Thursday 11th April 2013, he noticed the problems below:

 

Intermittent picture lag

Colour Balance not configured properly

Over-Heating

Damaged TV cover (Rear)

 

According to the law named above and Panasonic’s conditions of guarantee,

my brother was entitled to have this work done with reasonable care and skill but it is clear that they damaged the TV further.

 

My brother has continually contacted them to ask them to replace or fix the television

but has not received a reasonable response from either Panasonic or DK Audio.

 

What can he do????

The problems lies solely with the shop you purchased the tv from. Comet are well known for passing the buck onto someone else. You can write to them and demand they repair it in accordance with the above mentioned SOGA, and give them a time limit in which to do it and get it returned to you. Send any letter by recorded delivery or take it to the shop where you bought it and hand it over in person.

 

You can also mention in your letter that should they fail to complete the repair, you will take it to an independent repair shop and bill Comet for it.

Just to clarify further,

 

my brother brought this television with a voucher which he was given due to a previous television being faulty.

 

This vouchers was given to him by Panasonic.

 

He then purchased this current television using that voucher from Comet.

 

As Comet had gone into administration when this television went wrong,

he contacted Panasonic who then sent it to their repairer DK Audio.

 

When it was returned it was damaged.

 

My brother received a letter today stating that Panasonic are refusing to take responsibility for the damage done to his television by DK Audio.

Sounds like you need to get your evidence together, and issue a LBA then follow it up with court action. Theyll be stubborn as a mule, but as soon as those court papers hit their desk, you watch them run around begging.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

My brothers television was sent to DK Audio for repair by Panasonic and when it came back there was more things wrong with the television. My brother sent letters to both DK Audio and Panasonic outlining what was wrong with the television and although DK Audio left a message on his phone they have not written to him, whereas Panasonic have written to him stating they are not responsible.

Can anyone tell me what my brother should do from here apart from taking legal action. Unfortunately my brother has slight learning difficulties and this legal process will be difficult for him to understand.

panny are responsible for the actions of DK audio

 

how about YOU doing a brief complaint email to panny CEO.
